    Bearded reedlings

Autumn is on its way and sun rises quite lately, so when i went to nature reserve I arrived before sunrise and got some shots of rising sun but nothing spectacular. Then i looked for birds but saw nothing interesting, just some mute swans and cormorants. I was already planning to leave when I heard and saw couple of bearded reedlings flying, too far to shoot. But i followed them and they lead me to flock of reedlings, maybe 20 birds. They seemed to gather in reeds, then after a while climb to one tree one by one and take off, fly a circle of couple hundred meters, land in reeds near tree and repeat. Maybe they are preparing this way to migration? Anyway, this was first time this year I managed to shoot them so it was day well spent.

Good to see you back with these cute little birds. I always enjoy these sets. Like the last one doing the splits.

And to follow on from the butterfly, there was a beehive with a transparent window you could look into and see the bees at work.

I think I prefer the colour version. Which do you like?

Colour all the way. More impact!

I was out in a Bee museum gardens yesterday and there were butterfiles flitting around. It took me a few goes, but I did eventually get one in flight
