This weekly topic serves as a place for forum members to share recent work with our medium format cameras. It's OK for medium format owners to dazzle us with images made with other cameras, but the idea is to allow owners with similar cameras to compare notes, chops, and sensibilities.

    To begin:

Add your contribution for the week by responding to this, the first message in this topic.
In order to make things easier for our cellphone users, please limit the number of images in one post to fewer than 10, and don't quote images in your replies that are extraneous to the points you're making.

If you especially want C&C (criticism/critique) or technique feedback, say so. It’s assumed one does want such feedback, but direct requests may garner a more studied analysis/response. If you don't want such feedback, say so, and others will respect your wishes.

If you feel you've been ignored, select your post, reply to it with a brief note to the effect of "Can I get some feedback?". Not getting feedback on a post isn't uncommon, so don't feel offended - no one is charged to ensure all posts get attention (we're not organized enough for that). If you want particular feedback (composition, exposure choice, etc.), saying so can be helpful for the potential respondents as to what your needs may be.

It is courteous and advisable that, should you post images for feedback, you also make comment on at least one other contribution. Respectful acknowledgment of everyone is the goal, and it’s requested that all participants assume some responsibility to that end

If this was a Rorschach test, I would see an angry snake face or a happy frog face. Is this a setup, or this was just there when you pulled out the drawer and it looked interesting so you took a picture?

I just got an ultra wide lens for my gfx50s. It's a 20 year old Sigma 17-35mm f/2.8-4 in Nikon mount with a mechanical aperture ring. It mates perfectly with my Fuji and my Sony with appropriate dumb adaptors. Manual focus, of course. It covers the GFX sensor in square crop (barely). The edge quality looks, umm, let's call it "dubious". It cost a princely £96 so I don't really care about imperfections.

It's rained heavily every time I've attempted to step outside and use it and at the moment I have precisely 11 images at 17mm to choose from. It's very wide!

This shot I find interesting (even though it's really boring), just my wheel barrow blown over by the wind. I find it interesting because to my eyes it exhibits a sort of (hard to explain) "being sucked into a tunnel" effect. Kinda like you could step into the picture and be pulled into the background. Is it just me, or does anyone else see this? If you do see it, what's causing the effect?

I'm never normally a huge fan of deliberately poor quality photos made just to look different (leaky cameras and so on) even though I like abstracted photos. This is nice, though, works well. Enough connection with the reality of the subject. Reminds me a bit of the work of Skye based photographer/digital artist Cath Waters cathwaters.com/products/inner-sound-skye-and-scalpay-prints

It's nice that people think I'm skilled enough to shoot something deliberately poorly, as opposed to just being a poor photographer, lol. This really all just stems from how surreal the original looks.

Just playing around in Photoshop and one thing leads to another and next thing I know I'm learning PSD files have size limits PSB files don't. lol.

First time posting to this site, in fact not much of a poster to any sites. Honestly, over the years I frequented various forums reading and appreciating the tremendous knowledge, insight, experience and of course the friendly banter. With the demise of DPR and the start of DPRv has motivated me to participate more.

So here we go my first photo! Taken this past Sunday when Summer suddenly appeared in Ontario, Canada and some of the small wild flowers popped out of the ground. Taken with an X2D and Nikon 60mm Macro with Fotodiox. Stooping low on the ground for awhile to try and manually focus stack but to no avail with the light breeze; so 1 shot only. At my age, cramped while getting up and still sore days later, LOL. Things we do to get a shot.

Photo is SOOC except for the Lr vignetting to reduce background distractions from the surrounding dead under brush.

Works for me, nice. I'm not normally a fan of flower photography because too many people just photograph the flowers "straight" without attempting much artistry. Flower record shots. But when done with artistry like this, flowers become something more than just flowers!
