Thoughts on successor to PowerShot G15

Hi everyone, made it here too 👋

among other gear (Pentax DSLRs) I also have a PowerShot G15, but haven't taken many photos with it lately. The G15 had replaced an A560 then.
I like the G15 very much... the robustness, the fast lens, setting options and that the G15 is so compact to handle.

Don't know the current Canon camera offer in detail, but I suspect there is no real successor to the G15... other than maybe the G16? ... is it worth changing if there is an opportunity?

... or do we just use our compact cameras until they break and then only shoot pictures with iPhone & Co anyway?

Yes, there is G16, and there is G5X, G7X and G9X lines, on top of G1X. Not the same approach, but I would hope you find an acceptable upgrade path with these. Some of these have larger sensor, while still maintaining quite fast lens.
