This forum has what I think is a very nice feature. After a certain length of time after a post has been created, and/or the last reply has been entered, the post can be archived to a separate forum (they are called categories here). It doesn't disappear for good, but equally, it doesn't 'get in the way' of current discussions.
So, what do you all think about implementing this? As a starter, I would propose 4 months from creating the forum or 30 days since the last reply. Then it gets moved to an archive and made read-only. There would be one archive for each top level category.
If you find you cannot reply to this thread, feel free to PM me with your thoughts or create a separate topic here with your thoughts. We can tidy them all up later on.
