    Calm down everyone.

Mistakes do happen. This editor doesn't always place the cursor at the correct place when doing multiple quotes and it's easy to miss that when replying (I've seen it done elsewhere).

I'm using Windows 11 and the way I got the emoji windows up was to hold down the windows key and then pressing the open square bracket followed by the full stop. Then, click on the emoji icon at the top and after that, every emoji i click on goes into the text. πŸ‘

That's why I always click the Preview button so any mistakes are easily seen but I don't believe this was a mistake because he clearly tried to cover it up by editing his post after I caught him out.

I'll leave it at that and use it if he posts stupid accusations against me in the future.

WOW, a lot to take in for the casual poster like me (not like DPreview at all).

Although this thread explains a lot (I guess I will need to understand some computer language / code if planning to communicate effectively on this forum)?

Besides the tips listed here, is there a page available showing all the commands.?

You don’t have to use all these features if you don’t want to, for most users they’ll just upload photos and the forum can insert the code for you. But, you can click the β€œ?” Button in the editor when making a post for help which lists all the formatting codes. The editor also has buttons for most of these formatting features too.

Unsurprisingly that doesn't work in Linux :(

Let's see, Settings > Personalization> Text Input says [WindowsKey + ; (semicolon)] is supposed to work too.

Unicode incorporated emojis back in 2010, so you'd think it would be built into every computer OS by now. Gee whiz, and I just figured it out.

Edited the Opening Post of this thread > Added all the new findings.

    NOTE:
I'm so an old IT hand, that my keyboard never had a cap on the Windows Key.
When it first appeared I removed it physically. As these are better keyboards now I do remove it programmatically.

The way around is to remap all the interesting shortcuts via Powertoys which is Microsoft software.

    Here we go:

From now on ICONS for me will be [Ctrl+Shift+.] whatever the Program or Web I'm writing on ... WhatsApp Web for instance.

    Thanks!!!!

I guess a lot of us Linux users are fine with traditional ASCII emojis though :)

(I wouldn't be surprised to find out there's some convenient way to produce them, I just haven't ever looked for one)
