    Good news!
It would be nice if it was possible to see the number of members growing in real-time on the site.
it might encourage people to sign up more.

Yeah! Do you know how many members dpreview has?

    4,304,976 threads 47,493,754 posts

    That's a lot of data!

Second what Maoby says. Now we only see the top posters.

Yes it would, but I haven't found a way of doing that yet.

Congratulations on a fantastic job and achievement so far :-)

500 members in just a few days, even with the bugs (now squashed) putting up hurdles for you and new members to jump over, is a testament to your reputation and integrity.

It's only been 2 days, DPReview had 25 years. You have done an excellent job. Looks beautiful. Thank you.

Congratulations on the milestone. I've been around and ran several forums in the past and 500 members in such a short time span is not a small feat. Thanks to the DPV team. Keep up the good work!

Bob, please keep reporting how many members we have a while. It's inspiring to all of us, I think.

I got critique from a person at dpreview because I have put the URL to dprevived in my sig. Why single out one of several projects blah blah blah? I tried to list my reasons. One of them was people are already moving here and the most important thing is to not lose contact and for that we need a platform NOW because we have very little time.

I of course also said this is the most viable project and so on. Because it is. But that the we are growing is actually an argument for others to join.

I say "we", because thanks to your attitude Bob, I do feel part of this. 😊

What's the competition? DPR Clone? What is that communitydummy.com? A hosted service of some kind?

No, it's his own service, I think he runs a server company. I only say 'competition' because I reached out to him and the response was along the lines of 'I'm the boss and you're welcome to hand over the community to me any time you want'. I'm not sure why he chose the URL.

    Hi all

I am one of those new ones hereabouts:)

FWIW I joined DPReview in August 2003 and to see it's demise and the loss of (sometimes turbulent) community was a bit of a shock.

At the time much earlier upheaval I was none too happy that it even got sold across the pond :(

But I congratulate Bob for his active efforts to make sure the community can survive..........and will watch and all being well contribute here :)

Bob and Alan are doing a great job.
I'm confident this is going to be the DPR replacement under their management and the help of this community.
I'm also glad that the site is going back to the UK, where it all began.
