Thank you for setting up this forum this quick. Very promising!
I'm hoping to see the dark theme and threaded/flat view options here as well over time.
As they used to say on DPReview, "I've been lurking". But now that things seem to have somewhat stabilized, I'm here. DPReview member since 2008 named Doug Haag. This site wouldn't allow the same name, apparently because of space in middle.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to wasting many hours with all of you as I have for the last 15 years. What? No grinning emoji?.
I was going to post a comment but meow covered it, so I will simply reply. There's a lot of work ahead. Agree with meow we owe bobn2 a huge measure of patience.
I was a member since 2012 and used to be very active there but got married, my GAS was strangled, changed phone and laptop, forgot my password and decided I spent too much time on that forum anyway.
Since then, I've still checked the forum pretty much daily and was gutted when the closure was announced.
I'm looking forward to seeing this new community grow and thrive, as I have benefited a lot from others on DPR throughout the years.
Congrats with hitting the 1500 mark. Still the forum needs more people - so those who are still active on DPR, please please put the link to dprevived.com/ in your DPR signature, and advertise on other forums/social networks (if the policy allows).
Note that some moderator(s) on DPR went rampage on posts with links to the new successor forums, and some people got banned for seemingly innocent posts, but a link in the signature doesn't seem to do any harm.
Joined the site yesterday after having spent around 20 years posting in DPreview. I have selected the option to download my data unfortunately I had already deleted all my image files from my gallery.
Wishing a successful development of this Photography community.
It's slowing down a bit - I suspect we've got most of the active DPReview people now, except those that have gone elsewhere. Some of those will carry on multiple sites and others will come here when they realise that's where their friends are.
I’m surprised in a way how active DPReview still is, I guess people are enjoying the last hurrah and making the most of it while it still has the biggest crowd, but ultimately that’s going to hit the buffers and I suspect there’s still more of an influx to come. Most of us are just the early adopters 😉
