Panasonic make some good cameras but their naming conventions leave a lot to be desired. As a result the web is full of dubious, confusing and often wrong information. So can anyone help with the following:

I understand that the TZ95D differs from the TZ95 mainly with the former having a better rear screen (1840k instead of 1040k dots.)
There is also mention of a TZ96 and TZ97. The only difference from the TZ95 seems to be the extra range of iZoom and Digital zoom combinations? Any other differences or improvements?
Has anyone got a TZ96 or 97? If so do they have the increased screen resolution of the 95D?

Many sites report “the LUMIX TZ95 integrates DFD (Depth From Defocus) technology which even shortens the time to set focus resulting in the ultra high-speed AF.” These exact same words are repeated on several sites so I wonder if this is true or just a mistake repeated many times. Anyone know for sure?

    Thanks for any clarification.
