Currently, for me, there is strong appeal for the light weight unsealed budget RF lenses for walk around and travel.

Dust/rain/sand storms and similar aside, what other conditions be cause for concern?
    - A windy day at a sandy beach?
    - Smoke from a camp fire?
    - light snow fall?
    - Other?

Thoughts on low-end lens coats by OP/TECH or Ruggard?
    Thanks!

The 24-105 L is water sealed if you put a filter on it. I had it In general I avoid taking extending zooms out in the rain even with a cover. Today I shoot college softball with a chance of showers and will use the 300 2.8 L prime and 70-200 2.8 L in lieu of the two L series extending zooms. I'll bring a cover but unless it is more than drizzle will not use it. I would not take a non-watersealed lens out in rain even with a cover. They still get a little wet no matter how careful you are. Everyone has their own tolerance for risk.
