Let me first say that I really appreciate the work done here to create an alternative home for DPReview forum members! One of the things I am really missing here is to upload images at its full size and basic exif data (in my case as a Sony RX10 user, about 20-25 Mb for a raw converted to jpeg 20 MP image) so that users can looking in detail to all kind of details in the picture. Will that be possible in the near future?

    Many thanks,

    Ab

Hosting images of that size, particularly by a non-commercial, no visible means of support entity is a big ask. Speaking only as a member of the community, with no official capacity, options open to you include applying a higher level of jpg compression — which may introduce some artifacts — or to host the images yourself or on another service and linking to them.

Personally, I downsize my images to fit within a 1600x1000 “box” for display on most monitors and don’t worry so much about individual pixels — but that’s me, and it’s not appropriate for all purposes or conversations.

For what it's worth, the EXIF data exists on the images uploaded to the server and is readily accessible. [Space reserved for when I find the best "how to" link]

Edit to add: I just looked at your image of the green-eyed cat. Something in your workflow is stripping the EXIF data — it’s not present in your image.

Try a service like Dropbox. They give 2GB free IIRC.

There were plans to increase the file size limit once they move to a new server, I’m not sure what the new limit would be though.

As others note, you can upload to other services and embed images here from there.

While I'd like a bit more than 4MB to work with (we really were spoiled at DPR), full-size images (within reason) look remarkably good at 4MB. This is a full-size (7728 x 5152 pixel) 40MP image at 3.5 MB( Fuji X-H2). Quite acceptable for general, not super-critical, pixel peeping...

I know, thank you! I (and others) used Dropbox on DPR to share RAW files to compare the results of various post-processing. But to first compress a 20-25 MB to 2 or 4 (?) MB before posting...I know, we have been spoiled at DPR..
