I would like to use my Nissin i60A flash as an off camera slave - but for it to fire when the flash on the camera fires.

I've set the dial to Sf. However when I take a picture, all I get is the Nissin giving me 6 or 7 beeps, the green light turns red and that's it.

So, am I doing something wrong or is this flashgun not capable of doing what I want?

    Thanks for any advice

    Did you try SD mode?

Maybe your camera's flash is that "pre-flash" type (non red eyes).

    Quote from www.nissindigital.com/i60a-details
"(* 4):SD - Slave Digital (synchronizes to the pre-flash system. The master flash is to be set at TTL (E-TTL for Canon, i-TTL for Nikon and ADI/P-TTL for Sony) mode.
SF - Slave Film. synchronizes to the traditional single flash system. The master flash is to be set on manual mode. Studio lighting system synchronizes to this mode. This mode is also available for open flash, and for a standard flash in the market."
