Has anyone successfully used the Pro 300 to print on 13" x 39" paper?

I have had my Pro 300 for a while, and one of the drivers for getting that model was the advertised support of that large paper size. I wanted to print 12 X 36 panoramas. So far I have been unable to do it at all. I load a sheet of paper in the manual feeder, send a print from Lightroom, the printer gives a paper jam error and ejects the entire page without printing. There is no paper jam - I've checked everything. And the printer works perfectly when feeding 13" X 19" paper through the manual feeder.

So I am lead to believe I have some setting wrong, but I can't figure out what I might have missed. Any advice? Canon's manual and online help site have been no help at all.
[Edit] Forgot to add Lightroom Classic on Windows 10 with a hardwired Ethernet connection.

You are correct. According to Canon's documentation, 13 X 39 is a legal maximum sheet size which can only be fed through the manual feeder. There is no roll paper feeder available, but I have some 13 X 38 inch sheet paper from Red River which I've been using to test with.

Have you tried printing through Canon's printing software? Might make a difference. If it does the same thing, I'd contact Canon support and see if they van help.

I'm going to 2nd the the thought of trying a different software such as Canon's. .... I know it's a stretch, but I had something similar. I was unable to get my Epson P600 to print using the roll paper feed a few months ago using LRC while I wanted to print a long panorama. (noting that I haven't tried the roll option in years). I finally tried using the epson software (epson print layout) and it worked.

Hi. I have a PRO-300 but I haven't tried anything larger than 13 by 19 yet. Keith Cooper has reviewed a lot of Canon & Epson printers and numerous papers as well.
Here is one of his videos - it might help, I don't know.

Failing that, I find Keith to be pretty good at fielding questions on printers and printing. Here is his site: www.northlight-images.co.uk/

Thanks to everyone who had suggestions! I appreciate it. I have tried the Canon PPL software (did it again today just to be sure) with identical results. I had previously found and watched the Keith Cooper video and thought I had followed his suggestions. But at your suggestion I also contacted Keith Cooper today who responded almost instantaneously with a suggestion to try setting the custom paper width to 12.95" instead of 13". He had recalled some sort of issue with paper width. That also didn't work.

So it's a call to Canon Tech Support on Monday. I'll circle back with the answer once it gets resolved.

    Thanks again for trying!

Problem Solved! We have met the enemy and it is us!

After spending more than an hour on the phone with Canon Tech support, I was about to put the printer up for sale and go out and buy an Epson model. The Canon rep kept saying "It's the paper, it's the paper". I kept saying "It can't be the paper, the paper is perfect." I thought he was just pushing the problem off on someone else. Well now, it wasn't the paper, nor was it some obscure setting, but rather how I set it up physically to feed into the printer.

Because the printer is located with its back near the wall, I had grabbed an old piece of foam core to hold the sheet up, thinking I was avoiding the problem of having the paper get hung up or damaged.

However! When the printer first started to feed, the weight of that paper was causing the printer to erroneously see a paper jam fault. So in a last ditch effort, I pulled the printer out away from the wall, letting the paper lie down on the table. It fed perfectly - problem solved! I guess I owe the Canon Tech Rep an apology...

    @MikePDX

Glad that you got it sorted out, and thanks for passing along the result. I will file this away for when I attempt something larger than 13 by 19.

    Thanks,
    Peter
