I've been on the fence for a couple of years about getting a drone. Then today I came across this video on YouTube:

I especially like the idea of using your drone to replace a gimbal. The ideas in this video make a drone a lot more useful than for just flying shots, and I think I'm a lot more likely to spring for one now...

Or you can get the Osmo Pocket III and do the same for less than $300

Sure, but I'd hate to limit my aerial photography to just the height that I could throw the thing...

I understand; I've seem some using this to get above ground: www.amazon.com/dp/B08ZCTD6KW/?coliid=I2R3OCZKLMOKSM&colid=18HZFF4GP01PW&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it&th=1
I own both the DJI mini 2 and the Osmo and I'm considering getting the pole for those places and times when the drone will be too conspicuous.

Thanks for posting that YouTube link. I have always had the drone idea lingering in the back of my mind and that video is giving me drone GAS. Seriously though, I may buy the mini 3 to play around with and satisfy my curiosity.

    Yes. This.

It's sort of elementary that one can do this with a drone. I've thought about it when it wasn't time for droning, but invariably when taking it out flight is the objective. Thanks for the notion, Sean, for it time to do more than just consider it. IMO, of course. ;) \

I have already found countless uses for mine. I even thought about group shots for my children's church from above.
I will have them form initials and all look up. Not exactly my 5D MK4 quality, but will give new perspective.
