This is Fitzroy Falls in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales.
This thread reminds me of an experience I had in the 1970's at a place called Pelverata Falls south of Hobart. Just over 100 metres high it is at the end of a horseshoe valley. On this day there was a very strong gusty NW wind blowing and when the wind peaked it was blowing all the water back over the top in a large spray. We missed the track and had a hard slog along the creek bed which was strewn with various sized boulders. Back from the base we managed to scramble up to the top to get next to it and were rewarded with a ringside seat for the few times the wind was strong enough. Unfortunately none of us had a camera.
It would be a trip I would love to do again if I could guarantee the same conditions.
