    I have been to this spot before and made a good photo there. This time, I wanted to try with Q2.

    I like the second one. The moody colour and the the way my eye follows the train (as does the walking person).

    I like both, but they are actually very different. They are taken from the same spot and have similar field of view, but many things are different. As you noted, the light and colours, the lone figure, and the emptiness of the platform are all different. For the second photo, I wanted to add more context and more than one focal point. It’s easy to clone out other people and crop similar ways to get the same colour, but I wanted to avoid replicating the previous photo. I’m adding it now, but as I said, I preferred to have something different.

    The uncropped version is by far the best, and it’s my kind of photo. The deep blacks and shadows really do transform a standard two-dimensional image into a three-dimensional world.

    It would look great as a gallery print.
