Thanks, Marc. I had the camera set up on a tripod and pre-focused. So she simply tripped the shutter when she liked my expression. Not sure I could have explained back button focus to her.
Although the Nikon D500 is a mirror image in your photo. I certainly recognize it as matching my own camera. I also recognize you from the DPR "Pro Dx" forum. Looks like Bill Ferris from among the regulars there has made it here as well.
I congratulate you on including some personal information under "Details" in your account. I have done the same because I appreciate knowing something about the background, age or location of the people I am talking to. I wrote about that in a separate thread and got some push-back about that not being a good idea. The internet seems to make some really paranoid -- and perhaps rightly so for all I know. But, like you, I was willing to take the risk.
Where did you access the "thumbs-up" emoji? When I make a tongue-in-cheek post, I like to add a smiley face so the post is not misinterpreted as being literal. I couldn't locate the emoji's.
