The lovely rose top center is nicely rendered with sharp waterdrops and petal and leaf detail. The remainder lies in various states of blur which look like the result of a specialty lens, perhaps your lens baby. I'm pretty sure the lens baby didn't handle the color alterations so I'm assuming some kind of physical or digital filter.The muted pastels render a pleasant look. I do think the lower half-flower is unnecessary and perhaps a distraction because of its location, and, well, because of its half-ness if that is a real word.

You are able to create interesting images with precision sharpness utilizing everyday stuff found around the house. I admire your project for its originality and its success. The bottlecap is so darned sharp we can see the markings of the metal press that punched it out. Allowing blur to overtake all the rest was a good choice in my opinion, so that don't get lost in the detail.

I did it this way because the original shot was something I saw a shot very fast with a wa setting. This gave some extremetilting to the verticals. Straightening them caused problems at the top so I cropped as shown. In time I might get around to either playing with the original more or using the bottom edge to make a top.

Back in the old days on DPR we usually responded to comments made on our photos with ease, using the threaded view that let us keep all the comments in order. This is my first attempt to do such a thing here, where threaded view is not (yet) available. Bear with me if I accidentally miss someone. This is an experiment and like all experiments, can go awry.

Perhaps so or at least a gradient right to left. As you and I have discussed our bright pretty monitors sometimes deceive us!

The purple? yes, perhaps but with some intent as I am trying to make friends with purple, my least favorite color.

This was a Hoya R72 on a Voigtlander color ultron 50mm. Framing was a matter of focus distance, unfortunately. The blur could be wind or a 1.8 aperture.

The smaller number of horizontal lines and especially the continuation of the lines as they bend around curves and make their way back, creates more interesting forms than the straight lines truncated at each end in the second shot. I'm glad that the second shot was posted, it made it easier to explain what I was liking in the first shot.
You need a good eye to see the possibilities for a photo in a mundane subject. I enjoy shots that make me look at the everyday and open my eyes.
Sometimes photos need words to give context. With this image Rich I feel that your text is superfluous. If it can be done, maybe let the viewer enjoy making the associations for themselves. * [/quote]

Dear all,

We are slowly winding down after another succesful week.
I've enjoyed many of the images and much of the discussion, even if I have participated a bit less that usual.
(I am in the middle of a photo job that takes a lot of my time.)

The thread hadsgone a bit quieter in recent hours/days.
That is not unusual for our weekly gathering.
Tuesday is often a slower day, winding down and replying to messages and comments.
Everybody is gearing up of tomorrow's new edition.

Please be advised that if you want to post another image, it is often better to wait until the new edition on Wednesday.
This is good for the poster in order to get more traffic.
And also for the group, in order not to confuse the different sequential weekly threads

I will take care of starting the new edition tomorrow before noon (Brussels time).
Most often, I manage to get it online between 8.00 AM and 10.00 AM (again : Brussels time).
Tomorrow I will either be very early (before 7.45 AM) or a bit later (probably after 11.00 AM) because I have some chores between 8.00 and 11.00AM
