    Mike,

I didn't use Gigapixel to do either of these two enlargements - it wasn't available. I used several Photoshop techniques, which did a good job, then.

But Gigapixel is much better than any older method. I use it when I need it. I'll use it to reprint the large print. But I'll just leave the framed version as it is.

Some lessons from a very expensive art education: You can call your art whatever you want, BS sells better than truth, and it's probably a good thing therapy isn't a requirement to get into art school, or else they'd all be empty.

I'm all in favor! I have commented occasionally about how my right brain takes over, and something develops in the processing that I hadn't planned. As I wrote above, I found OpenCube's description of his "workflow" fascinating because I relate to it so well.

Not sure if Jim Kasson's topic from a couple of months ago fits your idea, Mike? Some of us (like MinnieV and me, lol) seemed to be in a different discussion 😁 dprevived.com/t/previsualization-heresy/4580/

Your title helps. `The clear blues and the long shadows might have meant it was early or late in the day. With your title, our response becomes shaped. Now the long shadows take on a different significance. The fingers of winter stretch out and the joggers make the most of small patches of the remaining sun.
The long dark headland extends the pattern of the shadows and unifies the composition. Your figures are well positioned to stand out against the blue and also have several visual lines that ensure that even though they are small, they can't be missed.

    Thanks Linda.
I don't know whether or not any of the admin sees this but I'll pass the idea on to them anyway.

Perspective and (the expectation of this being shot with) telephoto compression played a trick on me here.
Against the backdrop of the big mountains, I did not immediately recognize the roof as a roof.
The absence of walls (very clever) made me think I was looking at a snowy hillside, with the chimney not a chimney but a small hut or outhouse.
Obviously, this also made the bird appear much larger (like a huge bird of prey) and its shadow menacing.
It took my brain a while to see this scene for what it really is.
    I liked that.

I do like your Back to the Future reference here.
It does look like lightning strikes more than once in your images.
They are often very creative and slightly crazy.

Lovely high contrast beach shot with shadows playing a primary role. They are leaning from lower right to upper left, and guiding the ey to the pair of walkers, who are also distinguished by the contrast between the tonal values of their clothing. Emphasizes the vastness of the lake and sky.

Not much time for comments again this week, so will just choose some, where I might be able to add a comment, that has not already been made.

This is a great wedding series. Ok, that has already been said many times, and rightly so!

One thing I enjoyed, which I don’t think was commented on, is the change in mood shown by the Father, which slowly changes through the series. In the first he is slightly tense, despite the encouragement from his younger self on the wall. Then he gradually relaxes with a thankful embrace of a dance and an overwhelming casting off of stress in that great final image.

You found 10 minutes to do this? Heavens it would have taken me far longer to even come up with the idea!
In any case, it is an intriguing image, with ample room for interpretation. The rough patch in front of Papa Paperclip is intriguing, and could be a net on a fishing boat, amongst other things. It is also a nice contrast to the smooth bokeh.
I really like how a quick sketch with a paper clip gives us enough information to visualise a person, people even, and suggest their current mood and give a clue as to what it is doing. Very creative.

I had to look up DAP too, but liked the result.
The second is even more impressive, as you did it yourself. The whirlwind/whirlpool effect is clever and I really like the enigma of the lines suggesting fast movement, which is in total contrast to the crisp sharpness of the colourful contents at its centre.
