No way .... No pasting or compositing .... But that said I did have my doubts about this composition ... Here is the original -- out of camera --- reduced in quality to get down to 1 MB for the Internet ...

I confess I thought the picture was a bit over processed ... I was responding to earlier critiques that I was leaving in too much extraneous material so I tried taking out the trees and lines ... and cropped to keep focus on the hammock and its occupants ,,,

They choose the location for where they are sitting, not sure why but away from any onlookers in the park, I guess ...

If your concern is the reduced detail, then that is my choice and interpretation for almost all my street photography ... but i still think this picture is a bit over processed and maybe needs some rethinking . but then that's why it is here for critique!!!! ......

Automatic Title

Sometimes I think hard about a suitable title, which is appropriate, gives clues about why I took the photo without spoiling the fun and giving too much away, and ideally it should have a touch of humour. But occasionally it is all so easy and I don’t need to waste my time thinking of a title, as it is all so obvious from the photo itself.
This is one of those photos. It was taken just after leaving the airport at the start of our adventurous car journey to Darjeeling and Sikkim in India. At that time we were innocent of the roads ahead, decimated by landslides from a later and heavier than average monsoon, and the sketchy sections of road with running water over the surface, which had half disappeared down almost vertical slopes into the valley, sliding in mud, trying to find the last inch or two of stable roadway to get past oncoming traffic. And no, of course we didn’t have a 4x4 vehicle, but we did have an excellent driver. Now THERE was a real man at work over the last few days. All I had to do was take photos and persuade my wife and sister-in-law there was no danger.
Tomorrow we are promised torrential rain for our day long journey through the mountains, with up to 13 litres per square meter per hour. Ideal for fresh landslides. I can hardly wait. It is my own fault, but I wouldn’t swap this for a comfortable week on a beach for the world.

Now that was almost totally off topic, and what I should have said is that the photo is straight out of camera, so probably has deficiencies.

First of all, I thought that the "factory" in the background was part of the Ford Motor Co, and that the two people were enjoying their time on strike! I now see that Lanier Ford is a law firm in Huntsville, AL!

But seriously, your non-cropped version looks fine, expecially when enlarged by clicking on it. No question that the cropped version looks odd. Maybe it is down to your processing, as you suggest.

Local Photography History
Mine is a rural state and there weren't that many photography studios in the early days, mainly transient photographers who carried their equipment on their back so to speak. Last week I went to a presentation where a local researcher has gathered cameras, tripods, slides, and prints and other materials over the past 30 years. Descendants of these roving photographers have been happy to give him the materials so there can be a historical display developed in the state museum to commemorate that work. This shows one of the weirder cameras and a shot of one of the roving photographers with all this stuff strapped to his vehicle, ready for a road trip.

The second one is quite similar, but actually way smaller, so it was significantly harder to create interesting lighting...

Such a nice shot - brings back a lot of fond memories. Love the colors and the feeling of (slow but steady) movement! It's also a great benefit that it seems to have been shot with a fast lens. The blurry background makes everything work so much better. Excellent work!

Thanks. The image was taken with a Nikkor 180/2.8 at f/2.8, adapted to a Fuji GFX Medium Format camera.

I think it's time for a new road sign...

Initially I thought a shot from the other side, not showing the truck, would have been better. But I think the truck was probably also their stage, and part of the show. Either way, you have captured the levity 😉 of the day, and I am sure it was worth every minute.

Roel has said it all. Might have been interesting to be a fly on wall...

City parks are city parks, and one is bound to have a view, in some direction, of parts of the city. The need to find relaxation amongst the hustle and bustle, is more relevant in the city. And I would always look for this kind of shot for the juxtaposition provided. I feel the crop is appropriate (better than the original) and I don't notice any over processing - although my experience there is not so great.
I like this shot a lot. The colours of the hammock blend with the sky and there is plenty of greenery to soften any starkness in the skyline. Nice capture.

I am looking at your picture and trying to find some words. But I realise everything is apparent in the pic and the title. What more needs to be said if the picture tells the whole story? Other than intrigueing geometry and new methods in apple cultivation.

The crop was to try and approximate my dog with the rule of thirds, and I cropped a lot of sky because it was quite overexposed, but wanted to leave a little bit. I can assure you that if a kangaroo appeared she would be off after it (currently a work in progress to stop her chasing things). I think she was just waiting for me to catch up, but the shot was deliberately composed with her looking down the track.

I have commented on Sagittarius's water lilies in the flowers thread, but just want to say again, the golden glow at their centre is one of nature's magical colours. Almost as if lit from within.

History was by far my least favourite subject in school years, perhaps because we were expected to learn rote information and my mind didn't work that way. More senior years have given me an appreciation as I learn to reflect on past times given the cue of an historical picture / display. I don't live anywhere near a museum so your work Minnie, is the next best thing. I like the way you have caught the static box camera alongside the dynamic display of the screen / slide show.
