Golly! The Loch Ness monster of Attala County. There's nothing like a Nessie to bring tourists. It needs to be viewed large to give a bit more detail to the monster. This may or may not be something to be considered when the collection is assembled. I'm looking forward to seeing the next options.

    Thanks Minnie!

    To Manuel,

Thank you very much for your comments. I really couldn't get much more DOF in this shot. It was taken with a 24-105 zoom at 105mm at f/8 on an APS C, 6 MP camera. At this close focusing distance, even at f/8, DOF is very small. I wouldn't have achieved much more at f/11 and would have gotten diffraction effects that I particularly didn't like with that lens.

Thank you. I didn't know that Croatia had such a building.
Number 3 is my first choice as well. The clean lines don't compete with the curves of the building. Similarly with the simplicity of the B&W.
The foreground figure looks like a Fellini character and setting.

I am so getting in trouble at the photo Olympics this year. 😁

That makes three of us. 😈

Whew boy. So I'm gonna hope you zoomed in and saw the full because it does look extra bad on the thumbnail. What I think is going on...the camera kinda sucks when you start pushing things, and then throw in the fact you accidentally shot it on a non-base ISO and things start getting bad fast. Throw in a mid-grade at best kit lens....yeah imperfections are going to pop up. One day I'm gonna have $1000 to spare and get a medium format set to full spectrum, but not today.

I believe this is a Hoya r72 filter with colors pushed out in post processing.

I agree with everything Minnie said, including and especially the warm welcome back!

I totally love this image, although it also puts me in a pensive, almost sad but mostly nostalgic mood. That is what that very humanlike pose of the bear i suggesting to me.

First impression was that it really pops now. I went back to compare the original to see if you had altered the flowers. But no, just a slightly tighter crop and the blur effect. A good lesson (for me at least) in how other elements in a photo alter one's overall perception of the image.

    I also darkened the background.

Cropping closer and darkening the background make a huge difference. Before, a pretty group of flowers. After, a show stopper!
