Just superb image capturing the light on the grasses. The colours are brilliant and the background is ideal to accentuate the natural beauty of these species.
I was trying out my new Nikon D800E in Oct, 2012 with one of my vintage Nikkors, a 200mm f/4. I was on a riparian walking trail in Roseville, CA. I was passing under a highway overpass - a decidedly non-photogenic environment. Native grass species were all around. This clump of grasses and weeds was on a small hill.
That's a wonderful photo regardless of what it's taken with. The beautiful architecture with the arched bridge full of silhouetted figures in golden light is good enough, but you also have a boat with more silhouetted figures paddling through the golden oval reflection. Blues and golds serve as the perfect color combination. Excellent.
Fine brickwork indeed, and the tower is my favorite (#2) with all that very old detailed bright and the excellent dramatic angle. The jagged lines of the building set against the sky lead the eye through the composition but it's a wild ride to say the least. Good shot.
I would never have guessed this was a shot of paper. The rainbow colors, the round lifesaver figure, the odd zipper-ish apparatus that zigzags through he pinks all conspire to keep me from ever coming close. Fascinating, as usual!
These bridges are pretty special and I've not seen any like them. They are sinuous, tantalizing, and indeed grand. The middle picture is especially appealing.
