    Thank you minniev.

I also noticed the "wonkiness" in the colours around the edges when I processed the raw files in this burst of images.

Maybe I'm wrong but I put it down to most likely being caused by a too slow shutter speed.

At 1/800s the second curtain of the shutter is following close behind the first curtain across the sensor allowing only a thin slither of light onto the sensor during the shutter actuation. Since the subject is moving very fast in the scene perhaps there is some sort of "double exposure" effect happening because the thin slither opening in the shutter is moving too slow across the sensor.

Below is an example from an earlier shot in the burst (100% crop). There is a clear reddish cast around the keel of the surfboard.

This is not a composite. It is as was shot. The blurred hand is because little one was moving it.

Thank you for your opinion but the sky looks natural on my screen.

Feel free to post a version where the sky looks natural on your screen.

I have no reason to believe your opinion that it is some kind of composite of multiple images is accurate.

Can you point out any artefacts or other aspects of the image that lead you to your opinion that it is some kind of montage or composite?

From my point of view opinions that do not have any information to support them carry very little weight.

Very nice photo showing a part of nature's food chain. The colours of the kestrel and the background compliment each other very well.

I wonder what was going through the mouse's mind at that time ๐Ÿ˜€

Nice scene but has more punch when the shadows are lightened.

Thanks for putting me straight on that. Having never used a wide angle, I didn't twig that you were closer than I thought. Perspective...

    I flaunt the distortion.
It is part of my style.

I think it was a talon that went through his mind.๐Ÿคช

Really great image: perfect angle on a superb action scene, well separated from the background.

Without the polemics, I also donโ€™t see why this would be a montage and I am curious why Kumsal would think it is.

Nice colour scheme depicting the last of golden hour. No dark shadows hiding detail here. Lots of muted tones together with an evening oily water surface reflecting other birds? A glance at his eye leaves no doubt about his purpose.

I haven't seen a peach with that much colour for a long time. It shouts ripe and juicy. I do love Californian colours like in the table top and so many of your other scenes - bold but not too bright or garish.

A wonderful capture to ponder the expressions we might find in the subject's faces.
Happy, perky, maybe precocious youngster. Strong, dutiful, quiet, content mother...

Birds in flight are surely a challenge and even the best mention a low keeper rate. So pat yourself on your back for this one Pete.

Looks like it must be a real effort to lift yourself into the air from the water's surface!
Nice action shot with a good background full of gently coloured reflections
