Very nice and interesting scene and subject but with the subject around the centre horizontal it makes the twigs in the bottom right and pebbles in the bottom centre a distraction for me.

The subject stand outs and the scene is much more compelling for me if the image is cropped so that the bowl is around the bottom 1/3 horizontal turning the image to a panoramic aspect in line with the orientation of the bowl and subject.

Just some food for thought, as always 😊

Thank you for looking and commenting. I intentionally left it as is to kind of accentuate subject's dominance.

No problem. Unfortunately the distractions detract from the dominance somewhat.

    One more from Albania.

And again one of my Iphone preview images (the ones I share while on the road, with "real camera" images, some of them very similar, still waiting to be processed)
I consider these Iphone images like the quick polaroids photographers used to make while on a shoot in order to visualize ideas... but something the temporary becomes permanent.

This is the greek-orthodox cathedral in Korçë, a city in central Albania (and home to the brewery that makes the eponimous and widely available beer).

Congratulations Roel, you've captured an excellent photo here.
Right time, right place, more skill than luck.
    I like it a lot!

Not everybody gets so easily destructed. But that is OK.

At first glance I like this photo, there is even a deer in the water.
When I look closely I have doubts: is it fog or superimposed clouds?
Clouds are usually reflected on the surface.
But this also goes into the depths of the lake.

Last night our club had a portrait evening. Unfortunately, the models didn't turn up, so we had to take it in turns to be 'the model'. Here's some I took.

Nice set of portraits but in some of them there is a reddish cast on my screen which makes the skin tones a little off (too much red) imo.

The whites of the eyes is normally a good starting point to set white balance and in this version below the skin tone looks much more natural to me. YMMV of course 😊

Brilliant. Position of humans on the bottom is ideal. Gives us full idea what they are observing. Glorious sunset. Well done.

The photo works by contrasting the grand seriousness of an old church with the small bright playthings of another era. The selected angle makes the most of the lush curves, built to impress towers and the arches of a very formal building. The girl in the foreground underlines the playfulness of the cars and gives details of the toylike vehicle. Then we have a line of the toys angling back to make the foreground/background link.
A universal statement of time and culture.

Aurora Dog Breeder v1 Color (1 of 1).jpg

This is a brave shot and for me, it comes off. Yes, it has to be seen large.
The red tent with the splayed tent poles is working in a similar way to medieval corner decorations that give line towards the subject. It's a clever way to add interest and visual purpose from a small area to what is mainly a large dark sky. It gives direction that draws attention to the faint aurora. If the tent had been along the horizontal bottom edge, the shot wouldn't have had anything like the interest.
I'll bet you didn't see the shooting star trail until you saw it on the screen.. The number of them that show up in quite short time exposures always makes me thoughtful. We are constantly bombarded by them but see very few.
