I'm sure it wasn't the intent of the group, however...
We have a circle of well dressed westerners interacting with each other watched by the eyes on the wall.
There are some subtle compositional aspects at work here. By including the lower section Pete has added a stong diagonal line towards the group and also a rectangle that balances with the photo on the wall. The red jacket in the group works in making a link to the image. I suggests meaning in the relationship of the group to photo on the wall.
    A subtle and powerful image.

The image is ambiguous and could be interpreted in diametrically opposite ways.

I choose to interpret it as a child sleeping happily and peacefully in his grandfather's arms. I hope that's correct.

    It's powerful in either case.

An interesting travel-type image with good composition/placement of the lone traveler set like an arrow pointed at the apex of the triangles that form along the vanishing point line. The arrow then easily transfers to the top of the distant building and we read the entire image easily. The little splashes of red and orange are helpful punctuation.

The ladies in the colorful hats and outfits admiring the amazing architecture of Gaudi is another fine travel image for this week's collection, perhaps a theme developing? Even the straps over their shoulders match, adding value to the image.

The circle of humans matches the circular shape of the bench on the right, bringing a coherent echo of shapes. The Afghan girl, with her baleful expression that is so familiar to all of us, stares past them and up at US! She gives me an eerie feeling.

Pleasant travel images. The first is exceptional, with the day's dying light painting colors onto the reflective modern skyscrapers. I am glad Jonas and you cleared up that oddity on the building at the edge of the image, I couldn't figure out what that was. I am grateful for today's clone tools: yesterday's were so prone to create troubles.

A colorful crayon box reminder of the contrast between seasons: bright canoes which speak of summer, and snow which reminds us summer isn't yet here.

That, my friend, is what in the south we would call a "passel" of canoes.

If a grandfather cares about his grandchild like that, what am I supposed to think other than that he loves his grandchild?
What you're suggesting would never occur to me!

Lou, that is a wonderfully artistic image. The composition is excellent with the two V's facing off at angles, the moody sky, the subtle but powerfully impactful lighting on the boat. It feels like a painting. Almost like a Turner. I love it.

As has been mentioned, there's some haloing and some grittiness from the creative processing, which could be mitigated. I get that kind of stuff sometimes with Silver Efex conversions and have to fight it.

    Kumsal,

You have misunderstood my response to this image.

I have looked at all the suggestions and edits and since they are giving you such sound feedback I'll just say that you're on the right track with the subtle improvements you're adding. I like the way you/they have adjusted the lighting to make the building feel more accessible and welcoming. I like that you've decided to keep the sky a bit darker, though. I'd warn you not to get too deep into the purples, but that may just be me, since I am unduly prejudiced against purple in general. At any rate, it's a well taken photo. An interesting variation might be to take one with it even darker but a mysterious person outside.

An interesting, soft and slightly abstracted flower image that does look like some kind of explosion. Love this color combination.

The photo is a nice memory of your trip with the best camera available :-)
looks like a nice day for a ride.
The distorted perspective, with the buildings leaning in like that, is often easy to correct, but not in this case?
I had a try and it just didn't work for me; either the buildings looked strangely warped or the street got a strange slope from left to right.
So I guess it's best to just enjoy it as it is :-)

I really like this. looks great with the three colourful hats looking up and being fascinated by that interesting white building
Three is always a good number of things to have in a photo :-)

The processing gives it a great, gritty effect !
ItÄs a nostalgic image for me; I grew up on the coast and like seeing such scenes :-)

It was a very good image of a good looking building to start with and Alan's edit has made it even better. Lots of welcoming light added.
Reminds me somehow of the starting scene of some adventure journey in a fairytale :-)

Thank you Fireplace33 - for the comment on the image. After thinking about this image for so long time I got stuck when processing it. So Big Thank yous to AlanSh who showed me the light and to ArvoJ who gave me some other ideas and then also to other participants who commented with pointers and/or ideas!
A journey in a fairytale... that's another idea but then I think I would like to remove the traffic lights.
