Exotic and otherworldly - both the location and the image.

I would have moved around to avoid the flare/reflections. And would have produced a less interesting image.

I love this kind of minimalist image. Beautiful and serene. Nothing more to say.

A crop has already been suggested. It works. But no more so than this original. Were it been mine, I would move the subject just slightly to the left.

    Very nice.

This image created a real WTF moment for me :) You look into it and then bang! - it just stops abruptly, nowhere to go further. Just stunning!

Pelicans here fly in orderly chevrons of Squadrons, either 20-30 feet over the shoreline or, a hundred yards off-shore, effortlessly skimming mere inches above the wave tops, for remarkable distances. All well-behaved. They would be dismayed to know that their inland cousins are such a rowdy, disrespectful bunch.

Glad to hear that order and dignity has been restored to the dam.

Number One is good, Three better. Yes, this subject has been done almost to death. But for good reason. And you've done it nicely.

What's the story about the rock?

    Nice stuff.

Keep shooting! You'll get a rainbow eventually. I used to live in Hawaii. There was a rainbow visible in some part of the sky almost any minute, any day. Tourists would fall all over themselves capturing images, shouting, "Look!, look! Rainbows!" Locals would respond, non-plussed, if at all, "Yeah. we get that here."

Your use of the light and the lens is pure magic. That old building in classic Persian architectural style multiplies the magic exponentially. I can imagine Magi passing through any moment. I've always wanted to see this part of the world, so thanks for sharing the image gallery.

Rain, then more rain! You've caught the feeling of being IN it.

Welcome to the Wednesday thread, glad to have you aboard. Elegant minimalist image, proving yet again that you don't have to have amazing scenery to make a fine artistic photo. I do like Arvo's crop but I'm not opposed to centered subjects, like this bold X right smack in the middle of the frame. The delicate colors are quite nice - but this one would be equally nice and even more minimalistic in monochrome.

Nice travel set. The arch formations are the big attraction here. The first is my favorite because of the extra detail in the rock and the botanical features that are growing atop it. I would probably crop in further to give that interesting stuff better visibility.

I like the way you've turnt the image on its side, lined it up geometrically, and reduced it to monochrome, taking it down to its essence of form and texture and reducing it to a near-abstract. Very artistic. Well done.

Nice catch of an earnest conversation that looks exactly like the script you've given us. My grandson says "they always tell you that the day before you see them with that Other Guy."

A beautiful set, exuding peace and tranquility. The colors are appropriately subdued yet quite lovely. The third is special in its zen-like appeal - geometrically perfectly balanced, the simplified composition with a powerful leading line that leads to nowhere, but rounds itself and comes back again, light management that brings us to the end of the pier and holds us suspended there. Just a wonderful image.

Great capture and marvelous story :-)
The power and light of the water behind the main scene is amazing too
