A shot I'd like to explore. Is it possible to see it at larger size? I can't get a bigger view.
This is a classic example that we NEED THREADED VIEW on this site; one day...
That collection from Atlanic & Guardian demonstrates that it would be very interesting and educational for all of us to analyze and discuss various captures, but at present time it is NOT possible (IMHO).
Brilliant shot, it's like a blast from the past.
It's hard to image this method of transportation and activity today, but it was very common in those days.
Great b&w rendition and the animal climbing up the hill to boot.
Great experiment and impact is long lasting.
These 2 captures are THE pictures of the week. Well done Mike. It is truly rare to see a similar scene, but against 2 different backgrounds. And what a background...
Well caught. The clarity is amazing.
Eternal calmness permeates. Absolutely beautiful capture. Enough said.
What a great series. It's just hard to imagine such a different environment and how local people are dealing with it on daily basis. Great document .
The image works for me !
At a first quick glance, I thought, "oh, pity that the tower has grass right in front of it", but then when viewed at full res I could see those two yellow grasses are now perfectly aligned with the tower and make a great pattern on top of the red
Wonderful and timeless photo that could have been taken 15 years ago or 115. That such places still exist and that there are artists and craftsmen working in them is comforting. A marvelous travel photo with rich detail to discover (especially in the artworks). Perfectly processed for maximum impact, especially nice use of culturing.
The isolated trees on that rounded foreground rock platform are pretty wonderful against old backdrop of dramatic snow covered mountains. Beautifully framed. The distance between foreground and background features make for more understated drama. Monochrome is definitely working well here.
This is one where the title doubles the beauty of the image. But the beauty of the image itself is powerful as it is. The simple snowbell (what we call it here) blossom with that gorgeous little rainbow bokeh hovering within the petals exudes a warm magic that draws the viewer in. Easy to see why it's your favorite.
Good job of finding a view that encompasses what we imagine the pyramid scene to be: classic Indiana Jones style and period. Not sure if the haze created the brownish toning or if toning was done in post, but it works. The second view is more what I'd expect as ancient sites, once popular like this one, accumulate their own tourist industry props.
Wonderful capture and comparison.

Nice pair of action shots, catching the birds as they enter the water. I can be entertained endlessly watching them fish in their kamikaze style. Their diving skills are crazy but impressive.
Last week we spent in Fort Myers Beach, FL. During our walk along the ocean I've taken some pictures of the birds.
Pelicans fishing.
