Thanks, it was about the light. Color also helped as did a little bit of luck. This is headed back into a slot canyon with walls of pink Navaho sandstone. It was a day after a storm so clearing skies. The light was always changing. I was starting to set up my tripod and light came through the mouth of the canyon almost like a spot light that lit the center of the frame. It was fleeting so I rolled up the ISO, steadied myself against a rock boulder and too the shot. A few seconds the spot light was gone not to return again in the time we were there. The bright green leaves were alive with specular reflections. The light brought out the texture in the walls of the cave. The overhanging ledge at the top provided an envelop for the light.
While difference in reflectivity separated items in the image, I also used an orange filter to bring out the subtitles in the color of the sandstone and separate the yellow green from the pink. I would have preferred f11, ISO 100 on a tripod which was what I was intending to use. But opportunity opened the door and I went through.
