    Hello, Everyone!

Welcome to the first in a weekly staple of image-sharing with your Fuji X cams! The untimely closing of DPR may have created a vacuum for an “institution” on the Fuji X forum of the Weekly Thread. However, as I stated in the first thread here, Bob and Alan graciously created a place for us to call our own. With hope, and, most importantly, many contributions from you, it will continue to thrive on DPRevived! Lastly, since the site does not “yet” make it easy to just roll your cursor over the image to display the EXIF, please include somewhere in your description what model Fuji X and lens were used. And, if for some reason you own a different cam and wish to contribute, please tell us what you are using.

Ultimately, most digital cams these days are capable of capturing great photos. I would doubt, but not exclude, the possibility that most may not be able to distinguish one cam’s photo from another (admittedly with some I can….. but don’t test me 😁). Notwithstanding that view, the thread will be a unique opportunity for those with a passion, great or small, for what Fujifilm has given us, to display their work. Without further ado, the rest below will be posted on a weekly basis as a reminder of some suggestions that will be most helpful to those viewing your work.

This weekly thread serves as a place for those DPRevived.com members who own Fuji gear to share recent work …… specifically, with their Fuji X APS-C cameras. It's just fine for owners to post images made with their “other” cameras, but the idea is to allow owners with Fuji X APS-C cameras to compare notes, tips, and any other helpful hints. Please note. You can post/display images from almost any time period you choose. The purpose of these Weekly threads is to encourage owners of their treasured Fuji equipment to go out and use it to capture great moments. So, no time constraint. (edited 4/8).

To contribute your image, please respond to the original thread. Please give us a taste by trying to give it a title.....one cannot yet change the subtitle. In addition to uploading/embedding your image, please tell us a little about the image if you wish. It is helpful to some of us who are less traveled to talk about the location of your photo if possible. If you can provide details such as camera, settings and processing, that would be great for people reviewing the images.

If you wish C&C (comments/critique) please indicate that in your post. In this thread it should not be assumed everyone wants C&C. However, if you want specific feedback (composition, exposure, subject, etc.), don’t hesitate to mention it. It may be helpful to respondents what your needs may be.

    Thanks,

    Bob, your humble host

    PS…… Post away!

    You Know I Love Sunsets!!!!

    Hello, Again,

Those who know me from DPR know I live in the interior of Southern California halfway between LA and Palm Springs. For some reason we get great sunrises and even better sunsets. The main reason may be there are more particulates in the air. Bad for asthma and allergy sufferers, good for photographers. Below is one from the recent past…..SoCal looking southwest. Taken with a Fuji X-H2, 16-55/2.8. Processed first in X-transformer, resulting DNG into PS, no sharpening applied, then output Topaz AI Sharpen for final image. Size reduced to 2900 pixels wide for posting on this website. However, if you click on it I'm sure it will fill your big screens!

Next week I will post one or two from a trip I made out to the desert. Why? It is in full bloom! A record year of rain in California put more water on the parched areas than ever before. But that’s for another day.

Hope to see a lot of your images.

    Bob

Whoa! That’s truly an epic sunset shot, Bob. Love the different shades of color and the pattern… all quite unusual and gorgeous. Major kudos!

It is as if I'm looking out my window viewing a stunning sunset. You have started the new weekly photo sharing thread with a super photo Bob.

Thank you for getting this going,

    Morris

Hum, my comment dose not show that it is related to Bob's photo.

    Female Osprey Approaching Her Nest

Usually it's the male's nest and they make it nice to attract a mate. This is the second year this female osprey is using this nest at the Marine Nature Study Area in Oceanside, NY. A lucky male has shacked up with her and they are both taking care of the nest and having fun doing it. They have an incredible nest with a security camera and even a lightning arrester.

Those are really "cool" images. Forgive the pun (partially intended) but they are well done and unusual to me, a Southern Cal resident who doesn't live in the mountains. Thanks for posting..... and you used a flagship prime!!!!

    HI Bob
Thanks for creating this thread as a continuation of the one in DPR.
Looking forward to seeing many great images each week.
(And thanks to Bobn and AlanSH for creating these new sites for dpr addicts, makes the withdrawal more bearable)

I have uploaded a <4mb file so hopefully it will appear :-)

Awesome sunset shot Bob! It becomes much more impressive when zoomed in...

Since I did not quite finished my series of photos from Iceland in the old DPR I will continue here.
The shots below were taken with a X-T2 and the XF 18-55 mm lens.
The first four were taken at the Diamond Beach and the last two at an Ice Lagoon within walking distance.
    1. F9, 0.6 sec, ISO=500
    2. F11, 0.3 sec, ISO=200
    3. F13, 0.8 sec, ISO=200

The dusk makes this very interesting. I have tons from Glacier Lagoon but it was quite sunny. There is an advantage to that because the small remnants (not so small) are very vivid in their color. Gotta get back there.

2x2 Sunsets (2 images with 2 minute exposure)

These are a couple of very recent shots (April 1st). Both 2 minutes on the X-T5 with 16-55. ISO 125. F/11 for black and white, and f/14 for color. Used higher f/stops to help with exposure time (even with nd filter). Still trying to learn optimum output and uploading for the forums. Edited with Apple Photos (with Pixelmator Pro and Raw Power plug-in).
