Hello, Everyone and thanks for making Contributions to this worthwhile endeavor.

This weekly thread serves as a place for those DPRevived.com members who own Fuji gear to share recent work …… specifically, with their Fuji X APS-C cameras. It's just fine for owners to post images made with their “other” cameras, but the idea is to allow owners with Fuji X APS-C cameras to compare notes, tips, and any other helpful hints.

To contribute your image, please respond to the original thread. Please include at the top your message a title to reflect what you wish to convey. Consider making it somewhat entertaining… it may add some “spice.” In addition to uploading/embedding your image, please tell us a little about the image if you wish. It is helpful to some of us who are less traveled to talk about the location of your photo if possible. If you can provide details such as camera, settings, and processing, that would be great for people reviewing the images.

If you wish C&C (comments/critique) please indicate that in your post. In this thread it should not be assumed everyone wants C&C. However, if you want specific feedback (composition, exposure, subject, etc.), don’t hesitate to mention it. It may be helpful to respondents what your needs may be.

    Thanks,

    Bob, your humble host

    PS…… Post away!

    The Hallway and The Ceiling

Hello, Again, and thanks for continuing to endure images from my holiday in Italy…

I got back to processing what seems to be an endless supply of images. The interiors take an especially long time because of the high ISO images and getting rid of some of the noise. With the release of Adobe’s AI noise in LR, noise is well controlled. However it takes the processor time to work through the process. Then it goes to Topaz Sharpen AI. Sometimes I will just use Topaz by itself but my newest speed-demon MacBook Air has a bug that makes the Topaz Photo AI package hang and not work. Numerous back and forth emails have produced nothing except their Support people asking me to reset my Mac to default. Not gonna do it.

Okay, halfway down the long hallway after exiting the Sistine Chapel….it is an amazing sight. Rooms with beautifully painted ceilings and walls, museum quality pieces hundreds and some thousands of years old. And at this point we had to exit rather quickly to rejoin the tour but the hallways weren’t as packed as I thought they would be. The 2 images give you an idea of the awe and spectacle that it is. Gotta go back!

    Bob

White storks of SW Portugal's coast

This is a sort of ongoing series, as I try to visit this location every month or so, starting in the beginning of the year. In my previous visits, I managed to document the birds in their nests (they return every year to the same nest), mating and with the eggs. This time, after one month, the little ones had been born. All photos taken with X-T4 and 70-300mm lens.

Nothing special - just a few pics from yesterday's daily dog exercise run (the dogs need to be in shape to hunt big country out west, just like the people) following the little brook on our place up the mountain to the pretty little mountain lake near my house. We have been having a severe drought here in the past few weeks here. Happily, it rained the past couple of days, but still not enough to make this into a full mini-waterfall as is usual. It's just a dribble right now.

6-15-23 - Joy and Bliss in the brook - 1.jpg

Joy and Bliss cooling off in the little pool below the mini-falls.  I piled some rocks there to create a pool deep enough for them to immerse themselves.

Nancy by the lake in the late afternoon. We saw a water snake here yesterday - something that terrifies Nancy. That didn't stop the dogs from swimming back and forth across the lake.

Today there was a litte White Faced Heron in our backyard.
They very occasionally turn up but I have seen this one on 3 or 4 occasions.

Perhaps being winter their normal diet of fish might be running low so it's looking for bugs in our taller grass.

Anyway, I ran out with the camera when my wife told me there was an unusual looking bird in our yard and managed a few shots.
It didn't seem perturbed by my presence but I kept my distance regardless.

Not a special shot just excited that I didn't have to drive 15 minutes to the nearby lake to see it lol.

I am trialing DXO PhotoLab6 Elite at the moment and it's taken a bit of time to get used to it.
But it's pretty nice. Very different to Capture One (but some things are a little similar).

Very nice image of your dog at play. Mine dreaded water and hated getting his feet wet.

Great follow up pics! I recall you had posted earlier when the birds were nesting, great to see them hatched.

You are posting some wonderful images Bob and nicely processed so they are sharp, clean, detailed and colourful which is no doubt what Michelangelo and his fellow artists would have wanted people to see.

    Cheers

Thank you, Paul. Because of the higher ISO needed to capture the images with a 40+MP cam I have had to do a lot more PP to get the most out of the images. It is taking a remarkable amount of time but well worth the effort.

    Another Ceiling

Same Hallway as the first post. Just remarkable:

I just looked at it in the post and the resolution is sufficient to see some good detail!
