    Hello, Everyone,

    This weekly thread serves as a place for those DPRevived.com members who own Fuji gear to share recent work …… specifically, with their Fuji X APS-C cameras. It's just fine for owners to post images made with their “other” cameras, but the idea is to allow owners with Fuji X APS-C cameras to compare notes, tips, and any other helpful hints.

    To contribute your image, please respond to the original thread. Please include at the top your message a title to reflect what you wish to convey. Consider making it somewhat entertaining… it may add some “spice.” In addition to uploading/embedding your image, please tell us a little about the image if you wish. It is helpful to some of us who are less traveled to talk about the location of your photo if possible. If you can provide details such as camera, settings and processing, that would be great for people reviewing the images.

    If you wish C&C (comments/critique) please indicate that in your post. In this thread it should not be assumed everyone wants C&C. However, if you want specific feedback (composition, exposure, subject, etc.), don’t hesitate to mention it. It may be helpful to respondents what your needs may be.

    Thanks,

    Bob, your humble host

    PS…… Post away!

    *A Field of Yellow and A House of Native Blooms*

    Hello, Again,

    California’s recent rainfall has resulted in vast areas that are teeming with yellow wildflowers. I seem to recall this past week a satellite photo of a small swath of California that showed a very large land mass of yellow. The first 2 images are a small representation of what that yellow is. The following ones are of interest. One of our 4-streets-over neighbors decided 3 years ago to remove all their greenery and put in only native California plants. This year it yielded an amazing yard…. Small but packed with color. Images of the yard were taken with an X-H2 w/30mm macro and the field with an X-T5 w/70-300. Don’t ask me why I own both. Processed with X-Transformer, LR, sharpened with Topaz AI, and downsampled to under 4K with PS. These almost need a big screen especially the yellow fields.

    Hope to see a lot of your images.

    Bob

    Gorgeous flower pics, Bob… lovely color. I’ve been reading about the California bloom this year and it’s apparently pretty epic, as evidenced by the pictures you’ve shared. Just sorry I won’t be around to see it first hand.

    Last week I visited Serra da Estrela, a mountainous region and natural park in the center of Portugal. Still working on the images, but in the meantime, here are a few. This is from an archaeological and geological heritage site near the town of Celorico da Beira; in a small area around a hill, there are remains of:

    • 7,000 year old neolithic burials (in the photo);
    • medieval wall houses;
    • remains of Roman occupation.

    So, a very rich area. The boulder is granite (the whole Serra is made of it), which has been eroded in a way that has resulted in this sort of precarious equilibrium. Photos were taken with X-T3 and 16mm f/1.4 lens.

    Excellent set Bob. It is a delight to see flowers again. We seem to be having a drought after some late winter rain. I watered my garden the other day.

    I ran the slide show and it made me think the BIF was yours.

    The first is my pick. I like that it places the formation in the environment. That looks like an old stream bed.
