Thanks Morris

Thanks Jaberg - another duck had squawked at him and he made a swift and quite aggressive reply

Thanks, Morris. Maybe I should take a small set of binoculars are a monocular with me. What I did discover is for most of the birds, ya gotta be patient and let them come to you or nearby.

Flight of the Great Horned Owl
Around sunset, the mother of the GHO chicks I've been showing becomes active and flies from tree to tree always landing in a place where she has a view of the nest. In this case she went from a very tall oak tree to a pine tree and I captured her in the last glow of the sunset. Using 40 FPS allowed me to have some frames were she was mostly visible as there were trees between us.
Comments and suggestions welcome,
Morris
Nice set, Morris. I plan to do a similar stealth set with the Egret shots but not as dramatic as a mother owl and her nest. Interesting the way it stalks its prey then grabs it in the shallow water.

Thank you Morris!

1) Lomagnupur mountain is a huge rock on the South Coast, known for being one of the most recognizable mountains in Iceland.
2) A variety of foregrounds around the mountain contribute to making Lomagnupur a very desirable location for landscape photography
3) Fossalar river and waterfall are located in South Iceland. A series of cascades and its surroundings make it a popular stop for photographers
4) Fjadragljufur canyon (try to pronounce this...). When the glacier retreated, a lake formed in the valley behind a hard resistant rock. The runoff from the lake flowed to where Fjadragljufur is today, and erosion did the work
5) The most distinguishing feature of Seljalandsfoss is a pathway that stretches around it including the area behind the waterfall. Raingear is required to walk along the pathway

Two tight crops of the great horned owlets who were sitting on the top of the hollowed out tree that's there nest.

Snared a Silvereye up in the canopy yesterday at the far end of Sydney's Bicentennial Park
Light not great even though it was early morning.
Used the 1.4 TC on the 100-400 at max reach of 560. Still this is a crop.
Was lucky to score it with a bug.
Cheers
