We're being watched!!!!

Just because something isn't your favourite topic and folks rant on about it doesn't de-legitimize the site or make it less worthy.

Because:
1) There will always be those who chase windmills in all forums. I have been guilty as charged.
2) If there is a long rant and you don't like it, move on.

I was going to list more but I notice this is post about a post which seems not all that important because all forums are watched, by definition. And folks in dpreview posted threads recommending members come here.

Oh, like that sort of thing never happened in DP Review. That's why we put in a 150 post limit long ago. And also why threaded mode was added. More often than not, those wind up being rabbit holes within a thread and so easy to just not read those - if you can see the rabbit hole, that is.

In time, those sorts of features will wind up here and for the very same reasons they wound up there. ;)

And, yes, we are being watched. Most of us are still there as well as here. Until the end comes, anyway. But I am here more than there now. I check a couple of the old forums once a day and that's about it. I check more forums here and 3 to 4 times a day.

Isn't it wonderful that there is at least one competing forum out there?

This site is being watched on a commented on with conspiracy theories, etc in other forums and FB pages. One even accused Bob of hiring people to promote this site. Getting rather sad out there.

Bob A L was at the old place never seen in discussions like that and certainly did not rant. Period

Also, what's wrong on hiring anyone for promotion purposes?

It reminds me of nervous realisation/panic on "who would have expected that people would enter this public space?"

Not that someones resentment would be the goal, but I regularly have that for breakfast, and it is a good sign that it is working.

Well I thought the same about certain threads here as well, but as someone said up there, just ignore them, so I have 😉 There's a lot more than just a few threads here to follow.
