Got my first 500mm AF lens and I couldn't help but notice based on the off center results that I shift to the right more often than not when hitting the shutter. I've certainly noticed my ability to get a good shot on slower shutter speeds has drastically reduced over the years. I used to be able to hit a 1/30th with no issues, now, even with ibis, it's kinda hit or miss honestly. So what has photography taught you about your body?

I look through the viewfinder with my left eye (I'm right handed). I can shoot crossbows more accurately if I use my left eye - I'm off a bit to the right if I use my right eye. It may be connected.

One reason for IBIS is that I can compensate for old age.

That the SLR form factor is stupid, ergonomically. Seriously, put your hand on the normal grip, put the camera to your eye, and look at the angle of your wrist. Your elbow is back, your wrist is at a 45 degree angle and the weight is cantilevered off your wrist.

Camcorders have far superior ergonomics. Your wrist is straight, your elbow is in and the weight is on top.

That my body is no longer a tripod. Real tripods are photographers best friend, especially when toting about a 500mm f4 lens.
    Congrats on your first 500mm

I have discovered that selfies from 50 years ago show fewer wrinkles than today. i suspect the reason was Kodachrome's fine grain and 25 asa .Today's pixels will make you look old .
