What would be the alternative to Dpreview after it's closure? Where can I read about news of photography, cameras, comparison, etc?
    Thanks

There’s Petapixel - that’s where Chris and Jordan are taking their YouTube channel. Even in the “good old days” there was a lot of duplication in news across the two sites. PP has no forums and isn’t so hot on reviews though.

In time, perhaps, this place can expand…

Frankly, for the completeness of news reportage, reviews and comparison tools there is no single alternative. The ambition of this site is to get there, but you don't build that in a couple of weeks. It took them 25 years, and for a large part of that they had the resources of Amazon behind them. In the meantime, it's forums here, news and reviews maybe Imaging Resource, also has some comparison tools, but not at the level of DPReview.

maybe we can have a forum category named new news where folk can post..well links to newsworthy items from other photog sites and we can comment and discuss them.. can have a review category as well..

photography on the net is lots like DPR but not the same. I am done with hunting and this site isn’t it, not yet. Time to use Flipboard and find a new hobby

Very true! What I would say though is it had little to do with amazon; because back in the day, before their premiership - cameras where not skipped for review etc. The site felt less stripped back before amazon took over than it did lately to me anyway.
