What is the purpose of the **Post Limit** option?

I cannot discover when or why I should want to use the Post Limit option at the top of a thread page.

It defines the number of posts you see per page within a thread.

Perhaps labelling the selection list as just something like "Posts per Page" would make it clearer.

If I understand it from the above, the purpose it to limit the number of posts shown per page, not to change them.

Yep, that is exactly what I suggested - limit/show the selected number of posts per page. You can change the selected number at any time.

If I set it to 1, then I get one post per page.

However, if I set it to 5, then I get more than 5 posts per page?????

Looks like you found another bug.

Yes I get that too while I stay in this thread but as soon as I go to another thread with more than 5 posts I see only 5 posts per page in that other thread.

Thank you. The purpose of the button is crystal clear now 🙂

Found a bug: Once changed away from the defaults to a larger number, any link or action that directs to a post that's in a page number that's larger than the new page number will 404. The links are hard-coded to link to a post's page as well, which will change when the "posts per page" setting is change.
