I've created the attached spreadsheet which shows which threads will move from old to new forums. Comments appreciated.
I still need to think about where we move the M43 forums to. Ideas appreciated.

At first glance, it looks very good 👍🏻
The Micro 4/3 has become useless in the New Forum, we have Olympus and Panasonic to chat about the M4/3.
Thanks - that was my feeling too.
There is an error with ( Ricoh Talk = Panasonic/Ricoh ) you probably mean Pentax/Ricoh! 😉
Yes I did. Thanks for spotting that. I won't bother to re-upload the spreadsheet, but it's fixed in my version.
Alan
i'D make the name Olympus/OM System. That after all is the name of the brand now
Yes, sorry - I forgot that. It will be done. And fixed.
Alan
The updated spreadsheet attached here now has more information on which forums go where and what we do with them. My plan is for me to make the site read-only, make all the changes and then you can carry on posting. This will probably be sometime next week - I need to get a backup done first and I have a bit of testing to do on a test site first.
Comments can still be made if you think things need to be amended.

Going from 129 to 52, great success 😎
Just to be sure, iPhones and Smartphones meet in Operating Systems Talk?
Far from sure that DPRevived will be attractive for the new generation
Smartphones are going to become much, much more important in the years to come. No offense to the purists.
Interesting question. The smartphone is both camera and image processor. What’s the best location for keeping things clear and simple?
I agree and would think smartphones would warrent having their own sub, but if it hasn‘t been in use enough until now, I doubt this will change.
I think the main difference will be that there are more smartphone shots in the photography discussion and genre subs, which is fine of course.
If we see a need for it, we can add more forums, but let's see how it goes with the present structure.

No idea. But in general the image processing is with established s/w so it can go in post processing.
I can agree with that, especially the OM fanbois.
I agree with the suggestion about 'bridge and compact cameras' as the new place for, well bridge and compact camera. These would be from the excel:
Canon PowerShot Talk
Fujifilm FinePix Talk
Panasonic Lumix S Talk ???
Leica Compact Camera Talk
Nikon Coolpix Talk
Olympus Compact Camera Talk
Panasonic Compact Camera Talk
Pentax Compact Camera Talk
Sony Cyber-shot Talk
Casio Talk
Kodak Compact Camera Talk
Hope I've seen them all. Some of them are currently empty. As are the pots and the pets, so no worries. But there is nothing for images that don't fit in a genre?
Hi,
I often use a smartphone for documentary photos of things in my electronics lab. Much like I once used a Polaroid film camera. Things like instrument displays.
Here is one of the synthesizer pulling frequency when the power amplifier of a handheld transceiver kicks on.
Used to be we would hang a Polaroid in front of the screen. Then paste the film into the report. Now we just download the file and...paste it into the report.
Dunno about using one in place of dedicated cameras much. Kind of difficult to zero in on the defects the way I can with macro lenses or, better yet, a microscope.
However, I agree they keep on becoming closer to what a dedicated camera can do for a lot of folks.
Probably ought to be in their own spot.

In the DEV version there was a forum Mobile phones under Photographic Equipment, but I cannot find that in the xls
