White storks of SW Portugal

    They are the only species of this bird that nest in coastal cliffs. Every year I try to visit the area and photograph them. the bay in front of Cabo Sardão lighthouse is a good location to observe them. I have used X-T3 plus 16mm f/1.4 for the landscape photos, and X-T4 plus 70-300 for the bird photos. Full story here:

    Spectacular photos of these beautiful birds 👍

    Quite a few of them fly to the Netherlands to breed, all the way from Africa.
    They arrive here via Spain, Portugal, France and Belgium.
    In August they gather in large groups and fly back to Africa.
    Amazing how nature works 😉
