I'm curious, who is paying for the servers and stuff for dprevivied and what is your long term goal for funding the site?

Generally it has been my experience that 'free' sites don't stay free forever. Workers running the site, disk space, servers, and internet connection fees do need to be paid. Sure maybe initially it is a labor of love and done as a background site to other work, but eventually the bills have to be paid. And even if a sugar daddy pays for it all, at times the funder may burnout, change priorities, or even die and the heirs decide to stop funding it.

Obviously that means to keep going, eventually they will have to run ads, and/or having a subscription method to raise money.

Let me suggest that as one funding option, you offer some kind of membership or, at the minimum, a donation option. Given the experience folks just had with DPReview, I think more of us will be willing to pay for what we get. I'm certainly one of them.

    I strongly suggest, suggesting nothing!
Leave this matter firmly in the hands of the site developers.

It's already been discussed elsewhere. Just wait. We need to be patient.

At the moment I'm paying for it.

There is a proposal, it's got a bit lost due to other activity. Have a look and comment.
