Who remembers the Fujix DS-300 1.3M CCD?
A camera that didn't go unnoticed in 1997
It was the first compact camera to exceed one million pixels.
Unfortunately, its price turned many people off, myself included š
The magnificent Fujix DS-300
1.3M CCD sensor (1997)
1,280,000 pixels (1280x1000)
248,000 Yen or $2,400.00 USD
With PCMCIA card
I decided to compare it with my Fujifilm X-T5, to get a better idea of how Fujifilm has evolved over the last 25 years.

Fujifilm X-T5 (2022)
40 MP APS-C sensor (7728 x 5152)

Photos taken with the Fujifilm XF 56mm f/1.2 R WR
and the Fujifilm XF 35mm F2 R WR

Finally, the X-T5 is $700 US less expensive than the DS-300 in 1997.
