One thing that I noted with sadness when I went to the old site were “last post” threads made by members. I never did post an image in the March photos thread (the last one), started as always by holgerlinke. Is there any interest in keeping up that tradition here?

Also note the discussion thread that I have started over on DPR Forum; that site has attracted some of the other previous DPReview forum members.

Unfortunately my DPR Forum thread is no longer available - it was deemed as being inappropriate/spam/trolling and deleted by the admin. That simplified the decision about my future forum home - see here for my farewell to DPR Forum and the comment to it by the admin. Have already logged out from there and have no plans going back.

That kind of sours me to the other site, it’s similar to some of the heavy handed moderation that occasionally occurred on DPR. I had read your now deleted post and it’s kind of a stretch referring to it as some kind of marketing attempt. I prefer the site layout over there but I prefer the atmosphere here.

I am sorry to learn of your experience on the other site with the admin.
I did not like the feel or smell of that and I also note many of the names I recognise as seasoned and experienced contributors to DPreview ( in general not N1 ) have chosen to post here,Indeed the founders of dprevived I also recognise as being long serving and experienced contributers to dpreview and as photographers.
We shall see what happens in the longer term. I will probably just continue to post the occassional snaps on Talkphotography for the time being.
