I'm always happy to get a bit of bokeh, something I don't get much of since I changed to M4/3. Once of these days I'm gonna get a (moderately) wide aperture lens.

I used Xpano 0.16.0 for the panorama. It's a pretty new, free, piece of software. I like it - it's pretty fast. If you're on Windows or Linux I recommend trying it out.
I found about it on pixls.us, but I can't access the forums right now for some reason. Here's my post on DPRevived about it, with links:

If it's bokeh you want and you only have to cover a M4/3 sensor, you could look into "projection lenses". For around 20$ you can get an excellent swirly bokeh lens (50 mm f/1.2 or around that...). You can see some samples here:

Walking through gardens near where I live, took these flowers, they looked so pretty. Back on the computer and checking for noise.

You've got to laugh and they're supposed to be avid gardeners. Still you don't have to worry about the slugs getting at them. 😁 😂

Wow! Regardless of their material, they look excellent on the images, very well captured! 👍 A friend of mine (who is an expert on lens testing) used these for comparing different lenses, which I found quite a genious idea because a.) they don't change shape or color as much as real flowers and b.) they provide great texture and generally a significantly more interesting test subject than shooting test charts over and over again.

Glad you've got some interest in the subject. I don't think an "adapted lens" section necessarily warrents its own sub (size wise etc.) but I just wanted to make sure that it's not buried under "others and miscellaneous" 😅 I actually like the "Adapted & Third party lenses" combination currently proposed in the dev area, as it could help get the sub to a reasonable size. I'm well aware that the original "adapted lens talk" has lost a majority of its potential contributors when it turned out dpreview is going to stay, but I'm hopeful that this place can grow into an interesting place to have conversations about a range of topics (including adapted lenses) over time regardless.

The yellow flower was really well camouflaged but I should of seen the purple one. Just goes to show how easily we can accept what we see, it still made me laugh when I saw them on the computer though. 😃

Just for the heck of it, I covered up the mirror image with my finger, leaving the original intact in the bottom left corner.
It was a very intriguing minimalist picture. (I thought).

Thanks for the suggestion. I think I made a shot of just one as well, but I think I went closer in the process and felt that it was taking up too much of the space. You might be right and a crop could work better for that.

I tried doing a crop myself, and I don't think it worked too well. it enlarged the cube too much.

I sort of envisioned this tiny little cube in this vast emptiness of inky black space - sort of a metaphor for a single individual in this vast universe.

This week and last week we have seen less activity than usual. Perhaps people are away, collecting material to show us in forthcoming weeks!

Steve T. seems to attract animals to his yard and his photos of them are always fascinating.

Mocha's pictures along his local canal are extremely varied and beautiful, particularly those of the damselflies and the goose in flight. I wonder where the canal is located. His artificial flowers, posted later in the week were a great trompe l'oeuil. As simplejoy commented: great for taking pictures of flowere that do not move in the wind so much during tests -- and more interesting than brick walls!

Photobygms made me wonder where the animals in his photos go when the military are in residence. There is a lot of beautiful undeveloped countryside where he lives.

Dunlin is still enjoying the photos of his holiday in Cornwall, and sharing them with us. Lovely photos, particularly for someone like me who misses the sea! He also gave us useful info about Xpano for panorama stitching.

Simplejoy's church in a frame is a masterpiece, as is his cube photo.

There was discussion of the leaf shedding trees. There are lots of plane trees in London that do not shed their leaves in hot summers. Personally, I think the effect here is simply due to lack of water. I notice that a plane tree in my street has this week had the paving around it removed and replaced by a circular patch of earth of 3 metres diameter. I cant recall whether it had been planted when the street was restructured three years ago; but I suspect that the provision of more earth is a reaction to the trees I showed. So far its leaves have not fallen!
