This weekly thread is principally intended for you to show others the photos made with Canon cameras of all sorts: SLR, DSLR, Mirrorless, M-series, APS-C, film, etc. BUT all brands of camera will be accepted, including photos taken with your phone. We do enjoy reading an accompanying text explaining your photo and any special techniques you may have used. Comments and helpful criticisms on others' photos are also welcome: we can all learn something from each other. We look forward to seeing your photos.

A new thread for the following week will be posted next Saturday around 10 pm UK time.

Digirame and I will be active here and are sharing the hosting, but we hope that all will join in and comment on others' photos.

AlanSh understands our request to locate these threads in such a way that they can be easily recalled in the future. He has an idea of how to do it, but asks us to be patient for a few weeks!

    Superb photos mocha.
Your first shot is my favourite. Very well done.
That Great tit is reminding me of Spring. Already I'm looking forward to hearing the great tits sing again.

It's going to take me a few days to process all my pics from Scotland. I'll share them ASAP, however.
I'll also try to provide extra info with the pics, and do a better job at captioning them.

Some kind of pollen inducing weed.

Couple of little buggers flew into my frame.

I did manage to catch the moth as he settled in for a minute.

Really like the composition here with the twig and the neutral background - works very well.

Fantastic colors - a really great flower shot! Would be great if you'd post it in the 1000 flowers thread, if you want!

It's a really nice combination of colors and an interesting background - slightly busy, but pleasant to look at regardless! 👍

I continue to shoot a number of different lenses, some of which I've never tried before, like this wonderful, probably around 80 years old Leitz enlarging lens:

I wasn't expecting it to produce such nice looking rendering. Certainly makes me curious to re-examine my 9 cm Elmar lens as well.

    Mocha,

We see another excellent series of photos. If I want to show pictures of birds, it would be just as we see there. You had sunshine and a great background. You flower photo has a nice set of colors in the background, matching the flower. Everything works well with that. Ah, the butterfly...you captured another good one. It's nice to see your scenic canal image too. How many miles did you walk along the canal?

    Steve,

Weeds can have pretty flowers, even dandelions. 😀 I do like the small purple flowers. They look so good. Could you take more of them, with the flowers more towards the center? I think you have something here that could really look nice.

Thanks for your explanation last time of why the red flowers were shown the left side (on the previous thread). I know all too well that problem where something or someone gets in the way of a good photo. Sometimes I can crop them out or copy & paste something over them (especially if it's sky or water).

    Simplejoy,

Your photos are appealing. You have a creative touch. With the flowers, the background works well here. I like seeing the round lights in the jar.

    Subject: Beach at Tillamook Head

Last month I was at the beach for a volleyball tournament. Of course, first I had to visit the beaches near Tillamook Head. Tillamook Head is the tall hilly area which can be seen surrounded by coastal fog. I hope you like this series.

Photo No. 1 - This is Tillamook Head. As noted, it was surrounded by coastal fog. We were fortunate that the fog only came towards the beach once.

Photo No. 10 - These girls were out in the water and came walking by. They were probably part of the volleyball players that often play volleyball in their swimsuits. What better way is there, than to cool off in the ocean! 😀 This is looking north towards Washington state, on the opposite side of where we were seeing Tillamook Head.

I'm definitely getting a Close Encounters of the Third Kind vibe from your Tillamook Head photos.

    Steve,

Thanks for the reply. Yes, that fog surrounds the hill that way like a flying saucer. When it comes in to the beaches, it destroys any attempts of any good photography. I did take a few pictures of it, when the fog came in. It looks quite different. Sometimes you can't see anything very much; other times everything looks soupy white. With the fog mostly staying away, the volleyball pictures turned out pretty good.

I'm a bit late, but nice shots again from everybody, @mocha123 the first one with the bridge is the one from your sequence (for me)
@stevet1 Like Simplejoy's reply the color combination and seperation from the background do make the flowers stand out.
@simplejoy you do have a lot of interesting (old) lenses with and you do get the best out of them😉
@Digirame, that cloud/fog in the first pictures does make me think bad weather in coming 😀

Some times it's just fun to be a tourist and shoot with out really thinking.
We do visit tourist spots sometime when we are not on a hike.
    Visited Vianden Castle:
