Thanks Steve
It's all about enjoyment and having fun and part of that is experimenting.
I'm sure you'll get plenty of great pics

Your images, as always, are just out of this world.
Particularly love the colours and composition of the pencils.

Steve,
Yep, that does look gloomy. For us, it's the same starting this weekend. The gloomy clouds and rains are forecast for us, with some possible heavy soaking. We actually look forward to the rains, since our summer dry season is so long (about 3 months). We did have a thunderstorm the first part of September although that helped break the spell a little. I think that put out some of the wildfires. We hope the rest of the forest fires will be put out with the next batch of storms.
I hope to see more of your gloomy photos, along with the autumn colors. It's a great time of year for photography.
Have seen many beautiful images again, and we don't have anything yet to share, our holiday is over and I'm back at work.......

Dig,
I knew it was going to rain.
I washed my car yesterday.

Paul (Fotoword),
Thanks for commenting about the fashion show pictures. The dresses are "out of this world". They are excellent and are sold by Lucia Nguyen under the name Lucia Isabel Collections. This is the same person that had their dress shop destroyed by a fire. I heard about that fire from someone I knew, and drove over to that location and documented it (while the firemen were putting it out on tall ladders). The firemen were able to rescue most of the dresses by piling them out into the street (although there may have been some smoke damage). After this fire, I'm glad that she has continued being successful in making these beautiful dresses.
Steve,
If there is not a lot of wind, try taking photos in the rain with a large umbrella. If it's not raining too hard, you might be happy with the results. Sometimes I don't want to do that, because who wants to be out while it's cold and wet, but some neat images can be made. 😀
Mocha,
First of all, I'm glad you got things restored after your laptop died. Yes, that can be pain to do.
Hi Digirame, Thank You.
The weather was hot but I was out everyday, so much to see and photo. I've now succeeded in a clean windows install. 👍
those are 4 very nice shots indeed. I too really like the first one.
Regarding Linux, I've been thinking about changing for a while. I don't actually use any Windows only software at present; however I do use you Onedrive. It's just to easy to have my primary photo folders automatically backed up. That's not really possible on Linux.
Hi Dunlin, Thank You.
I found that a fresh install of either Windows 10/11 removes your Documents and Pictures Folders as well as your Desktop and puts them in Onedrive without my consent (although I'm sure It'll be in their EULA) it was the fact I had reintalled my Documents then went to the computer Document folder and found they weren't there. Much registry hacking later and I had the machine back to normal.
If I want to use Onedrive to backup thats my choice but to have Microsoft slyly enbed it in Windows is wrong. (Rant Over). 😀
Mocha,
I don't think Microsoft messes with other drives. It's best to keep the C drive for the software and the data separate on another drive. That is, at least that is what I think is best but I could be wrong. Yeah, they do some things that we may not be aware of, along with everyone else with their cookies etc.

Mocha,
Like Digirame, I dont keep any data on my C drive. I build my own PCs and use a separate drive (among many) for photos, arranged in folders by date. Windows never touches this when I do a fresh install. I dont use Onedrive, either.

OpenCube,
That looks rough; hope nobody got hurt. When did you take that photo? What can you tell us about this event?

"It ain't Ballet." - Bill Watts
This photo was taken on Sunday the 17th. It was a local pro wrasslin show carrying on the legacy of wrasslin that has been around the Mid South for something like five or six decades. Fist were flung, chairs were slung, somewhere in the cosmos Shakespeare giggled at the absurdity of his ideas in motion, and most importantly, the people were entertained. There's more photos from the event in the Canon form here on the site if anyone is curious.

Hi David,
I too have seperate hard drives for all my pictures and documents etc. on my desktop computer. Because I travel alot I use a laptop to process my photos on and I try to keep thing simple so all my pictures etc. need to be on a local drive (C:). This was where I had the problem as I had to put a fresh install of windows on an old laptop.

Hi Digirame,
It's only my travel laptop where I keep all this years photos on, just to keep things simple when I'm on the move.
