    Hi all,

Visited Nene park last week, three large lakes and plenty of activity on them all and then disaster struck, my Laptop died. luckily I keep backups of all my photos and I'm now back home on my Desktop working on processing them all. I've just re-installed Windows 10 on an old laptop for a quick getaway. So many issues with installing Windows these days with all their underhand tricks. I would swap to Linux in an intant if I could install my photo software on it. Anyway I'm good to go on my next trip now.

    Mocha,

Thanks for letting me know that you like fashion photo no. 4. I caught her at the right moment when she swirled the dress and looked at me with a smile. I'm glad you like the first afternoon clouds picture. I just saw it and had to capture that one too. I know that Steve has been doing it also. Sometimes we have to look around beyond the subjects that we are seeking (such as wildlife) and observe other things.

    Mocha,

First of all, I'm glad you got things restored after your laptop died. Yes, that can be pain to do.

The first photo of the Nene Park is mesmerizing for me. I just love that one. The area is filled with water, yet everything appears so calm. That's a great picture of the Red Kite hawk. Those are sometimes tough to capture, because many times they could look like a silhouette if the lighting is not just right. Wow...super one of the squirrel jumping in flight (JIF). 😀 That's a neat photo of the damselfly. It reminds me of when I used take those kinds of pictures a lot with my Olympus 70-300mm lens.

I like this one - nice symmetry and I particularly enjoy the warm light at the end of it...

It's not something I'm familiar with, because around here (in the European Alps) I think we usually only got some kind of walkways in Canyons with really rough terrain and even then they're significantly narrower. But I guess it's necessary through swamps/marshes (there's not too much of that around here) and some areas where a mass of people might be a danger to the flora and fauna?

This is a bridge across a creek here in the neighborhood... usually that's how many of the walkways look, some are even simpler.

    Simplejoy,

You have interesting subjects. What type of bug is that? My favorite is the last one with the screws, drill bit and glass.

Thank you! I think it's a "common green shieldbug" (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_shield_bug)

I also captured a brownish colored one:

Great shots! I like this one in particular because of the great contrast of light and darkness and the nice framing! You could perhaps reduce brightness on the bright green at the top a little bit, but it's a really nice looking capture already!

    Steve,

I like that you are noticing the leaves that are changing. I saw some also, as shown below (I took that yesterday). Is that insect a cricket?

    Simplejoy,

Thanks. I'm glad you like that one with the light at the end.

Oh, I see...the walkways are narrower. We have a narrow walkway like that on the coast, that was also a small suspension bridge. But that's the only one I remember that is that narrow.

@mocha123 those are 4 very nice shots indeed. I too really like the first one.

Regarding Linux, I've been thinking about changing for a while. I don't actually use any Windows only software at present; however I do use you Onedrive. It's just to easy to have my primary photo folders automatically backed up. That's not really possible on Linux.
