Today is the autumn equinox... meteorologically the first day of Autumn (Fall).
"Autumn according to the meteorological calendar begins in September and ends in November. In the astronomical calendar, the beginning of autumn is marked by the autumn equinox which occurs around the 22 September.
During the autumn equinox, the Sun shines directly on the equator and day and night around the globe are of almost equal length - a day and night of roughly 12 hours each."

The road to Harvest, Who knows what vast fields lie over the brow of that hill?

Hey! Isn't this the day we were supposed to go for a hayride?

When I reinstall Windows on my laptop, I make the C drive only as large as it has to be, and make a D drive of the rest of the space, for data.

Fotoworld opened our gallery this week with magnificent shots of an Australian Pelican and a Superb Fairy Wren. Expertly captured and framed.

Simplejoy gave us some more of his macros. He has posted an interesting article on the Noritsu lenses than he uses for many of these. He returned with bugs taken with a Steinheil Optronic lens. As Paul, Fotoworld, wrote "out of this world".

Digirame was at an Oregon fashion show -- as glamorous as those in New York or Paris. He also captured some dramatic clouds for us and, taking his cue from Dunlin, added a gallery of Oregonian wooden walkways.

Dunlin showed more of his Scottish photos -- amazingly exotic. His autumn equinox was a wonderful view of land and sea, particularly when enlarged.

Steve T showed us a highly successful five shot vertical panorama -- plus some countryside shots. Not to mention Groot!

Mocha was at Nene Park, near Peterborough, England, showing lovely animals and a peaceful looking lake.

As a complete contrast, OpenCube was at the wrestling.

Here we have finally come to the end of the hot weather, with temperatures going down to 13°C (55°F) at night. I went out yesterday to take photos, but was defeated by the weather.

The new weekly thread is open here. Please start using it now.

    Dunlin,

That's neat to see the green countryside. It looks great with all of that sunshine.

    Steve,

I enjoyed seeing the groot, ground hog (I assume) and your trip to Harvest. I'm planning to see some pumpkin patches this October too, so I'll get a chance to visit some of these farms. OK, I'm over at next week's thread. I started it out with a flower I found today.

    Nice image Steve!
Sort of like a vertical landscape.
    Good work 👏

    Cheers
