    DaveNJ,

That is a nice looking plane. Sometimes I leave the wires in my photos too, because it's just a natural part of the landscape. That happens a lot when I'm taking pictures from the car (as the passenger). Looking at your photo again, the wires that could be removed (for my tastes) would be the ones on the lower right side.

Thanks for the advice. I agree those wires on the lower right don't add anything. Maybe I should have also "transformed" the picture so the wire running from left to right is level?

I've seen more nice photos from everybody again.
This will be my next set.
Again lucky with the weather today, dry and temperatures in the 15 - 20c region and a few clouds, nice hiking weather.
It's Autumn/fall and mushrooms are popping up everywhere but due the high temperatures some flowers started also to bloom again.
Saw some Aconitum (devils helmet) 😁

    Mocha,

The Macclesfield Canal.is a nice place. I didn't know where that was, so I looked it up.

In looking at the map, I happened to notice that about 40 miles due north of Manchester is a little town called Great Britain. It's at the southeast tip of the Forest of Bowland AONB.

I thought how odd it must be for someone to try and explain that they are from Great Britain, Great Britain. 😀

What does AONB stand for anyway?

    Hi Steve,

AONB stands for 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' and is protected under the 1949 National parks and access to countryside act.

'Great Britian printed on a map', it's just an anomaly of map makers that they sometimes print the name of the Country occasionally in smaller print than the surrounding named areas making it look like a small village/town, we don't have a 'Great Britain' village or town I'm afraid.

    Hi Digirame, Thank You.

We've had some exceptionally warm weather of late and the Herons have been taking full advantage of this, I normally see less of them along the Canals at this time of year till early Spring when they and their young start fishing again in earnest.

Yeah... isn't that crazy? He approached me, though...

I originally only wanted to take a shot of the chestnut, but then I thought: The shapes at the top look like a hairstyle... and that round thing could be a mouth... So I got some drops as eyes on it and indeed this guy was standing in front of me. The tennis shoes? Some blu tack I used to keep the chestnut in place for the real macro shot I also showed. Of course I was thinking of hiding it for this show, but when I saw it through the camera, I thought: Whatever, that guy got shoes! 😂

A week ago, these chestnuts were still in their closed prickly green coverings. They will need some help to emerge fully.

    Photobygms,

The weather does look great, perfect for hiking. I just love those purple flowers. Yes, this time of year is when we can find fungi in Oregon too. It's hard to find them undamaged, but when we do, they can look nice in a photo.

    David,

Thanks for the full frame camera picture at ISO25600. That looks great. I think I need to get one of those, although I'll probably start with something like a Canon R8. During our rainy season, it would be nice to take better photos in dark conditions at high ISO.

Subject: The End of the Dry Season

At the end of the dry season, many ponds and lakes dry up some that are dependent upon the seasonal rains. I took these photos in early September of this year. I'm fascinated by this. Next spring the lake will be all full again, assuming we have normal rainfall during the winter months.

Photo No. 1 - Before we get too much into looking at the lake, I wanted to show you a sailboat that I found.

    Thank you!

Yeah... somewhat right. But it's more like alternating feelings of disappointment and anger, both resulting in sadness and eventually vanishing (thankfully pretty quickly). It's tiring though going through these cycles again and again for (when viewed from a more objective angle) pretty much nothing. It helps to know that it likely passes though! 😅 Experience is worth a lot. (So is being able to laugh about yourself from time to time).

The yellow flower picture looks cheerful. It's just what we need sometimes.
