Sorry it's taken me a while to get round to sharing photos. Recently I've spend my free time at the computer finally learning and using darktable.

    Processed from RAW in darktable.

    Taken at Wakehurst gardens.

    Hi Digirame,

The patterns in the shoreline of the lake look great, I'd be hanging one or two of them on the wall also the colours look stunning.

    Hi Dunlin, Thank You.

Just every so often the canals break through the man made banking and nature is allowed to escape and do its own thing, hence the tree roots, Oh and the happy Heron. 😀

I like what your showing, it takes many hours to master your chosen software and create your personal tastes in the photos you take. 👍

    OpenCube,

You caught that at the right moment. What camera and lens did you use for that one? It looks like you captured a lot of detail.

    Dunlin,

I hope you enjoy working with your software. The first one looks like a candidate for HDR, especially since there are no people or other objects that are moving. Does your software process HDR images? The type of picture you show, are those that I avoid, because of the bright light in the background and the darkness in the foreground. That's very tough to get a good image from it. But sometimes we can't avoid it. Usually, I see those type of conditions late in the evening when I have bright light and long shadows.

It looks like you caught Robbie taking a cat nap. Is that your cat?

    Mocha,

I'm glad you liked the patterns in the shoreline. I wondered whether other people liked those images like I do. Obviously it wasn't hard to take, but it just looked good to me. And it's something that I can only see during the end of the dry season.

    Everyone,

Tomorrow I will start the thread for the following week. David asked me to do that while he is away for a while. I hope to hear from him later sometime next week, after the weekend. I'll start it maybe a few hours earlier, because of where I am in Oregon. I think he begins it when I'm sleeping. 😀 So for my convenience, let's plan on about 7 to 8 pm Saturday, Pacific Standard Time.

If some mod wishes to explain why exif data doesn't transfer....it's just a full spectrum canon eos-m with the 15-45 kit lens and a 550nm filter.

This is me trying to salvage a picture. Does it work at all? I'm leaning towards no.

There was a lot of contrast, probably not a shot I could shoot as JPEG without HDR processing.

No, he's not. He was recently adopted though. Really just a change in title, as he was already living there and being fed.

    Hi OpenCube,

The EXIF data comes and goes on this site. We don't know why.

I am able to put in my own EXIF data. I copy and paste the complete EXIF data from IrfanView software into MS Word. Then with a program I wrote, I'm able to pull out select EXIF data that I show with each of my photos. I wrote it for Canon M50 MKII and Canon T7i and Canon 800D cameras (the ones that I take pictures with). On my Canon M50 MKII camera sometimes I get two varieties of the EXIF data so I had to write some code to account for that. There's probably hundreds of different ways to do this with programming. It's just something that I developed for fun. I normally do not write code in MS Word. Mocha has his own way that he developed also. I can't remember what code or software that he used.

Edit: Just as I finished responding to you, the EXIF data came back.

    Steve,

Yes it does look dark and ready to rain. We've had some rain, fog and now cloudy skies. I may go out in it, in a few minutes. We can get some neat photos all year round with the right equipment. These newer DSLR and mirrorless cameras work great with these conditions.

    DaveNJ,

I would say yes. It might have been better if you had more reach, but you did the best that you could with what you had at the time. Sometimes seeing an object small like that, is nice to see also.

    Steve,

Oregon was right in the path of the solar eclipse today, but it was too cloudy and foggy for us to see anything. After I went out a little today in the afternoon, we did have a few sprinkles too.

    Everybody,

I'm going to start the next thread in a few minutes.
