    Dunlin,

Thanks for the reply concerning the El Grito event. That's great you know a little Spanish. A lot of us here know both languages, maybe not perfectly but enough to communicate. If I need help to speak Spanish better, I can also use my phone as a translator.

    JACS,

Many times I have sharp backgrounds with my Tamron 150-600mm telephoto lens. I achieve that by reducing the focal length, stopping down the lens, focusing in between the subject and the background (when there is a particular subject) and choosing my background. Sometimes I like a blurred background like when I showed my Red-winged Blackbird last week. Because the background was so far away, it turned out nice.

What telephoto lenses do you use? My other telephoto lenses are a Canon 55-250mm lens and a Canon 55-200mm lens. When I use those lenses if I use 55mm focal length and F9, almost all of my images are sharp at all distances from near to far away.

Before global warming, hydrangeas used to flower for a long time in the UK, where the climate was (at least then) similar to the Pacific NW. I guess that warming has had two effects: they flower later, and stop blooming earlier. I expect the UK and PNW inhabitants notice the same effect.

    Hi JACS,

Instead of throwing your EF100-400 away why not learn how to use the lens, everthing has limitations, my 7D mkII shoots at 10FPS class leading in its day, now the R7 delivers 15FPS mechanical. Am I going to throw my 7D mkII in the bin, NO. I spent time altering all the menu settings to my liking, I got everything etched into my memory and it was worth it, it paid off.

    Hi Digirame,

Love the festival atmosphere you show in your photos and the superb dresses in pictures 9-10-11. Excellent set.

    Hi Digirame,

I checked out my Lightroom catalogue and the first photo taken with my Tamron 150-600mm was on the 13/02/2015, I think you bought yours just before that.

The photo I took is memorable. See Below.

I was just checking out focus, honestly. 😀😁😂😅

I dont know what type of photography you do but the vast majority of Lenses do not perform at their best 'Wide Open' and narrower depth of field you are creating is putting a strain on your cameras ability and your ability to get critical focus.
