Steve,
Yes, it does lead us in, towards the center and bottom. At least for me it does. Good job!

Hi Digirame,
That's a cracking photo of the Heron with the rain in the background, I love that kind of photo. đ

Simplejoy,
That wasp...
That looks deadly. I hope you took that photo with a 1000mm lens from 200 yards away đ
On a serious note though, what a model of efficiency and skill!

Dig,
Thank you.

Steve,
I like the yellow colors. We might have hit peak colors or are close to it. I think the US is going to be hit with an arctic blast today or tomorrow and all the leaves will fall soon. So, keep snapping away quickly before they are all gone. đ
Mocha,
Thanks. I'm glad you like seeing the heron in the rain. I had just gotten the lens during the beginning of our rainy season. But I still had to try out the lens. In addition to carrying umbrellas I have a large cloth in my bag to wipe off the gear quickly. I shouldn't take chances like that, but it's been OK for more than eight years with that lens. Although, I think I'm more careful now. I do remember at times taking pictures with that lens and my giant umbrella. I only do that if the rain doesn't stop and I just have to get outside. đ
Simplejoy,
Your photos are so different than what I take. I enjoy seeing them. I especially like seeing the spider. I like the beautiful colors it has. Why did you call it a wasp?
I love these two -- I am a sucker for squirrels!
David
Yes! The quality of the lens is superb! A nice photo.

Thanks - it's called a "wasp spider" (hence the title). It is poisonous, but not dangerous to humans. It's also not too big. There are wolf spiders around which are at least twice its size and the "cross spiders" (also very common around here and not very dangerous) can be significantly more massive as well. So thankfully I don't have to be afraid.
Thank you - glad to hear that! As mentioned above, it's called a "wasp spider"... a-legged was just some (stupid) word-play on alleged. đ
I love the frame filled with that beautiful color - great shot! Fall is fabulous.
The new weekly thread is open here. Please start using it now.

simplejoy,
Thank you.
I just stepped into that tree branch. There was no up or down, or front or back.
I was totally surrounded by this wonderful golden color.
I call it the total immersion technique đ
I felt like I was on that road to OZ
It took me a while to snap out of it. đ
