Really fantastic shots - love the atmosphere and colors! Whatever software you use to sharpen/denoise... it introduces some weird artifact (as can be seen in the water of the second shot) I don't think it's distracting at smaller sizes, but in the bigger version it's noticable and I guess it could easily be avoided by just not applying it to complex surfaces like that of the water. But regardless, really marvellous views of Vienna, well done!

In addition to some seasonal shots around Christmas, I've also been editing and uploading some older shots, particularly those, where I really liked the rendering...

    David,

Those are beautiful images and it's a beautiful city. St. Stephen's Cathedral is impressive. Do they let you go inside and take pictures?

    Simplejoy,

That first image does indeed look like a really nice photo for a Christmas card. We see red & green, a star, a bell, Christmas cookies and trees. Merry Christmas to you also and Happy Holidays. I enjoyed seeing the rest of your pictures too.

    Steve,

I cannot tell if it is going to snow. But I sure hope you can take a few pictures of that snow. How cold is it supposed to get? I was out taking pictures in the rain today with my umbrella. We can get some neat photos in inclement weather.

    Dig,

It's only going to be a light dusting, and not supposed to stick, since afternoon temps will be in the 40's (F).

Here's one from last year though:

    Steve,

Cool...looks great...pretty.... We get snow in the valleys about two to three times a year. Some years there's none and other years there are more.

    Subject: HDR Landscape Scene

Here's two photos I took yesterday using the Canon RP in-camera HDR (high dynamic range) settings. I was amazed how well the camera created the HDR image, with all of the details preserved knowing also that this was hand-held.

Photo No. 1 - Here's the HDR photo. I used "Art Standard" and Auto for the exposure value. It came out pretty close to what I saw in late afternoon.
    ResizedHDR.jpg
    Model - Canon EOS RP
    ExposureTime - 1/125 seconds
    FNumber - 8
    ISOSpeedRatings - 200
    ExposureBiasValue - 0
    FocalLength - 48 mm
    Lens Model - RF24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM

Photo No. 2 - Here's what the camera took, when I disabled the in-camera HDR setting. The ISO value is slightly different, so it's not the best to use for a comparison, but it's pretty close to give you all an idea.
    ResizedNotHDR.jpg
    Model - Canon EOS RP
    ExposureTime - 1/125 seconds
    FNumber - 8
    ISOSpeedRatings - 250
    ExposureBiasValue - 0
    FocalLength - 48 mm
    Lens Model - RF24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM

I'm going to find myself using the HDR feature of this camera more often. It's fast and convenient. The quality is good from what I can see and what I like. A lot of times (as a lot of you I assume know) we won't need HDR, but in cases like this it is nice.

Thanks. I don't know what other cameras have this HDR ability, but I hope it becomes more common.

I don't know why, but we have been invaded by a flock of crows.

There must be about 20 of them, and they have taken to hanging out in a tree in our front yard.

    They are big suckers...

    and loud.

    Hi Steve,

Crows are scavengers and will eat meat too. They are considered omnivorous and are very smart. Maybe something attracted them to that location.
